When it comes to a game like oblivion theres no real one place to start.I suppose its best to describe the game and its objective.Oblivion takes place in the land of Cyrodil .   You begin your adventure and right off the bat your asked to pick a class. You can either pick one of the preset classes or make your own. So if you ever wanted to be a level 50 mohawk now is your chance.   Then your asked to pick your Diety. Nothing to fancy there each god gives special skills and abilities blah blah. N...

Amazing game at it's core, technical problems aside. 0

Gameplay: 8.5I loved this game when I first started playing it. I was a relative newcomer to RPG's and I still am, but the combat system was fun, simple, and akin to any action game. I was pleased to see that there were no turns, nor number popping up in the air. Left-click to attack. Right-click to block. Simple. There are many MANY quests to complete but I was disappointed that the faction quests were not more fleshed out. Instead I was sent on random errands to occupy myself, when I just want...

    Oblivion Review 0

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was pretty fun for me on my first play through. There were some things that I though were missing though. The graphics are wonderful. Truly a massive difference from previous games and the music is great as well. When I heard the re-done version of the Morrowind theme I almost cried, it reminded me of the great times I had with Morrowind and how much fun I'd have with Oblivion.First off, the way they introduced combat was a little linear at first(in Morrowind they p...

I named Oblivion my favorite game of 2006 over a year ago, but I never got around to writing a full review, as that's something I didn't start doing until after I had been into it for a while and I wasn't sure at what point I should do so. Now's as good a time as any, as I've probably come as close as I ever will to seeing all there is to see, and I'm about to start playing the prequel, which I'm going to make a new blog for.Oblivion really isn't like other games for me. I usually play focused s...

Oblivion is one of the biggest disappointments in years. 3

Let's get right down to it: in a slew of Xbox games, one game stood above all, even above Halo. That game was The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. It is a staple in modern gaming, creating the best game world yet to be seen. You could spend hours upon hours playing this game, but the odds are that you wouldn't see everything it had to offer. It is, to put it simply, a masterpiece, and easily one of the best games yet created. It's because of this that Oblivion is such a massive disappointment. Wh...

Oblivion is great fun, packed with hours of gameplay. 0

Summary: Oblivion is a game to sure be remembered as the greatest FPSRPG of it's time, with 200+ hours of gameplay, endless caves, dungeons etc. to raid, hundreds upon hundreds of unique quests, it doesn't end. Seriously.Overview: The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is an RPG (more specifically FPSRPG) developed by Bethesda Softworks. The Elder Scrolls franchise is known for having huge, open ended lands, being able to do whatever you wanted to do in the game, and never having to follow the game's sto...

By the Nine Devines...I'm never gonna finish this game... 0

Best Feature: There is so much to do! So many ways to do battle, stealth, magic arrows. Create the character you want, be the bad guy, good guy or something in between... Worst Feature: THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO! You'll never do it all without using a huge chunk of your life! Game is buggy in a some places. Move over Grand Theft Auto! You thought you showed us the meaning of free form gameplay!? You know nothing! Oblivion has shown me that, even GTA gives you a bit of a direction to got in from t...

oblivion is a great game along with great graphics, controls, loads of content such as towns, cities, forts, shrines, ruins, campsites, dungeons, caves etc for you to indulge and explore. and there are four guilds for you to join and complete quests. but to be honest i only have really liked the dark brotherhood, thieves guild, and random side quests. i find myself only trying to complete the main, fighters, mages guild just so i can say i have completed them. the levelling up system up is stupi...

    I don't like it, sorry 1

Oblivion is such a boring game. I beat the main story and most of the guild quests, but they all were so boring. The story sucks too. Your helping Martin light the dragon fire by  getting this retarded amulet. The graphics are little dated in 2009 but it still looks pretty good.  The animations suck and feel so clunky, especially when your playing in third person mode.    Morrowind was better. Dragon age if even better....

dont feel so oblivious of the real world while im playin oblivion 0

oblivion:oblivion for the pc is a good game, but not really a good rpg. the graphics are great and the audio and musical score is so beautiful and serene and immersive, more so than the damn game. i think there is an element of quantityover quality here, for example when you enter a place you see a npc there, just standing there doing nothingwhich makes the game less realistic, along with fact there are no children in the game. the menus are tediousand time consuming, forcing you to scro...

    Oblivion review 0

The elder scrolls oblivion is a great rpg full of lush feilds of fruits lushush trees greatly detailed forestes and under water caves along with caves and people. The thing is that if you have played the leder scrolls 3 morrowind when you start this game you would think it was what took place before morrowind because in morrowind it says you were thrown in prison for an unknown crime in the imperial city and in oblibivion you start in a imperial prison being thrown in jail for an unknow crime for...

I Sold My Soul To This Game 0

RPG perfection? No, but so close it's hard to judge. A game I sank over 300 hours of my life into, and then some when I began modding it. When it was first released Oblivion was beautiful even with its low frame rate and sometimes absent textures, the world of Cyrodill was an impressive place. The combat wasn't perfect, but it was good and the story was one of the better ones in a game like this. It was the seemingly endless world to explore that drew me in. There are so many  places to find, an...

This game is amazing, truely amazing 2

Oblivion is the fourth installment in the Elder Scrolls series, it is developed by Bethesda and is easily one of the best games on the 360, but why is that? It is one of the best games because of four things. One, the 3 pronged combat system. Two, the exetremly impressive graphical quality. Three, the amazing writting and storylines. Four, the large amount of value in this vast game.Combat makes or breaks an action game, if you don't have good combat, then you dont have a good 1/4 - 3/4 of a gam...

    A Crowning Achievement 0

Here is a game in which breathtaking visuals and perhaps the largest free roaming environment in gaming history supplement, but do not by any means overshadow, an equally vast amount of gameplay content. In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, you take on the role of a citizen of Tamriel. What your character looks like, the skills he or she is proficient in, and how he or she acts, is entirely up to the player. The game has an interesting enough main quest, introduced to you when you first begin playin...

Review: The Elder Scrolls IV Oblvion 0

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblvion is an amazing RPG. It takes place cyrodiil, the capital province in the fictional land of Tamriel(The entire planet the series takes place on is Nirm if you want to go more to detail) It is on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.The land of Cyrodiil is huge... a little too huge. It's great that they made such a large area too explore, but most of it are just forests. Although the forests are different in every general area which is nice.Oblivion's gameplay is great. The combat feel...

An amazing game that any fan of RPG's should own 1

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion is literally the deepest game I have ever played.  There is no limit on what to do in this game.  From going to a city's main castle and kicking over the guards dinner on the floor, to robbing the local sword shop of everything they own.  There is no shortage of fun in this game, so lets get started.     The player starts off in a prison, unknowing of their own crime, when the king of Cyrodill walks in and explains that "he is the one" and you are whisked away ...

Anyone who has a 360 should already own this game. 0

This game is absolutely amazing, the visuals, the game play, and the amount of game time your can get out of this. First off this game is massive, the map is huge and theres plenty to see and roam around if you really want to see everything this game has to offer. There are many guilds and quests you do along the way or you can just do the main quest if you dont feel like doing the guilds. You can fully customize your character to your liking. This game is just amazing and I would suggest it to ...

One of the best games ever. 0

Being a father with limited time for playing games, I was unsure if I could put the time into playing a very large RPG. I never really played morrowind, only a quick go at a friends house. After following this game since the xbox 360 came out, I was really interested to see how it is. Well I took the plunge and got the game for the xbox 360. And even with a limited time for playing, I found I could get into the game, it is easy to pick up and play. Straight to the action from the beginning, load...

Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion is simply one of the best games ever! 0

The story immerses you like no other, the main storyline behind is that you play as a character who is given the task of finding the lost heir to the throne of Tamriel, the empire is crumbling and the gates of Oblivion opening up across the land with demons marching across the land. You must unravel the sinister plot that threatens to destroy everything. The plot builds up from there and it is very engaging and exciting, trust me! At the start of the game you are allowed to customise your chara...

    Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 0

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblvion is a RPG for those players who would love to have an open world in which to explore.  The game begins with you in prison, and after breaking out you end up with an Amulet which holds the fate of the entire world.  You’re exploring may be limited to the province of Cyrodiil, but that doesn’t mean that there is a lack of things to do.  You can do quests that range from being sneaky, using magic, hack and slash, and even murder.  To be honest, the game is beautiful vis...

oblivion does everything well. name it...the answer is hell yes. i could go on about the beautiful environments the excellent stories, the character depth in design, the online aspects, or the great combat. i'm not going to tho.for me this game is all about immersion. the first time i wandered into a goblin lair and i saw the giant rat being roasted on a stick, the lines of skulls hanging from the cave ceiling and the guard so close my heart tried to stop...well i knew then i'd stumbled onto som...

    Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 0

Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion is one of the best games I have ever played. I do not normally like role playing games, but this is no average role paying game. It is more like a cross between GTA and Lord of the Rings. The wide open gameplay is so incredible. The settings range from a grimy city to mysterious elven ruins. The graphics also do a great job of portraying these regions to make them look almost life-like. The character models and armor are also ver nice. The only problem with the graphics...

Bethesda's fourth installment in the Elders Scroll series knocks down every RPG and raises the bar higher than I feel any other game has dreamt of.The story is typically western, although highly original and you will not see all of it coming. A prisoner in the dungeons of the Imperial City, you are whisked into the Emperors escape plot from assassins. They still get him, but as he dies he tells you of a secret heir and hands you an amulet that protects the world of Cryodill. This sets you off on...

The best game to date. Period. 0

This is by far more than a game. Its the biggest revolution in gaming since Zelda:Orcarina of Time. Let me break it up for you ----------------------------------------------------------- Gameplay: There isnt too much to say here. You walk, you talk to people, and the talking is like all RPG's you choose what you want to say, choose your response etc. Everything is normal, then comes the fighting system. Even thought it is very simple (right trigger to attack, basically) it is very effective. Tr...

    Instant classic. 0

It's not very often that a game comes along which is so totally and utterly engaging that you end up planning out your next steps in the game whilst you're away from the comfort of your living room. This morning whilst on the way to work I was planning out which route I'd take to finish my quest, which guild I'd visit next for a contract and which weapons I'd equip to make best use of my abilities. Oblivion is one of those rare games which gives you an open ended experience but manages not to ...
