Great game, must have for any RPG fan!

    Gameplay:

The Last Remnant is a great game, and well worth the money. The story is very engaging and well thought out. The combat system is different from normal RPG's as well. The combat keeps you involved in the game so you're not just sitting there watching. There is an option though to turn combat to all automatic if you wish. You have the ability to make and customize weapons in the game as well, this is a nice touch.

    Graphics:

The graphics in The Last Remnant are outstanding if you have a PC that can run it at the high setting. I have mine turned all the way up, and have had no issues with texture popping or anything. I don't have a monster rig either, I have a AMD 5000+ , a Gforce 8600 GT 512mb, and 3 gigs or ram, nothing special, and it ran this game very nicely. The only issue I have is with the load times. If there wasn't a load screen every 30 seconds I would have rated this game a 5.

    Sound:

The sounds in the game are quite pleasing, they don't get respective quickly and sound good while doing major battles.

    Replay Value:

The replay value is very high, with the ability to hire hundreds of different people to join your party, and countless ways to progress your party, the replay value is amazing.

    Recommend ? :

I would recommend this to anyone, fan or not of RPG games. This game will be on my PC for a long time to come. I have been playing for about 40 hours and still have not finished the game. With all the side quest and things to do, you will be kept busy for many, many hours ahead.

Heyas, read your review and it's interesting to see a different perspective on the game.

Having only played the 360 version myself with its plethora of bugs, I'm curious to know if those were addressed on the PC. For example, how many "Leaders" can you have in your party now? You were limited to 5 by the end of the game on the 360, making the entire recruiting system pointless as you were given 5 at the beginning of the game. Is there much graphical lag during combat? That was another big problem on the 360, though hopefully the PC has taken care of that.

Another question I have -- was the story polished and new voice actors hired? I have to disagree with you wholeheartedly about the story being well thought out, as it's completely riddled with plot holes and generic characters. As an example -- a boy walks through a battlefield oblivious to the chaos around him thinking someone who doesn't look remotely like her is his sister? And that's just the intro!

I certainly agree that the side-quests are fun and will give you lots to do. Hopefully the Leaders issue was addressed, as while doing those quests might have been fun, the reward for them (usually a new "Leader' you can recruit) was useless on the 360.

Oh, one other question -- does the PC version let you equip anyone besides the main character? On the 360, it seemed so silly to have stores that sell items Rush can't use, especially since if you bought those items you had to cross your fingers and hope one of your characters would request to use it.

Hopefully I didn't come across too critically, I'm just interesting in finding out the difference between the 360 version and the PC version. Best wishes and happy gaming!

A rather satisfying game for those with Job-like patience 0

The Last Remnant represents Square Enix's first major foray into the saturated PC RPG market that is home to western classics like Planescape Torment, the Baldur's Gate series, IceWind Dale series, etc. As such, it was unsurprising that they opted for a faster-paced combat system in their latest JRPG. The end result is a game that will most likely frustrate hardcore fans of either genre, but will delight those with an open mind and patience in spades. The PC port is a much more serviceable itera...

      Not exactly exhilarating 0

The first thing I would say about this game is that it just didn't do it for me in terms of immersion and general entertainment. The story progressed slowly with some painfully bad voice acting and dialog, the strategic turn-based combat system made fights seem complicated and drawn out, the "leveling"/stats system was terribly pointless. The Last Remnant starts off relatively quickly throwing the player into a skirmish between 20 or so characters. The initial impression this left was that the ba...
