Titan Quest : Great storyline and good game engine
First, there is no way to avoid comparing Titan Quest to Diablo and Dungeon Siege series. It is the same basic templateand mostly the same engine that was used to create Titan Quest but with a different setup and context. You are now fighting against Satyrs, Cyclops and Centaurs in the Greek/Egyptian region. The basics of the game are quite simples; witch is the best part of the game according to me.
Gameplay: Simple, intuitive, fast and sharp. One example is when you create a character using a ranged weapon as a primary weapon, you don't have to worry about having enough arrows in your quiver, you just shoot and you'll never run out of them.
Graphics: Amazing setup and really nice graphics. The camera can be adjusted almost as you want it to just using the mouse wheel and this adds even more deepness to the game. High details in the environment such as waves in the water and your shadow being projected on walls makes it even more attractive and really sucks you in.
Sounds: I am disappointed on this aspect of the game. The sounds are always the same ones and the special effects are limited to the sound of a blade hitting a buckler and a monster calling for help or raging before charging you. I would have expected more weather effects like rain or thunder with sounds according to those situations. On the other end, the music sometimes meets your expectations, especially in dungeons hiding special bosses or when you are entering a new town being part of the main storyline.
Skills & Skill System: That is my major disappointment with the game. The skills are really limited and levelling up doesn't really make a difference compare to finding new magically imbued items. The skill system is simple and efficient, but is rotten by the poor selection of skills available. Some skills does make a difference when you can finally unlock them, but it may take for ever to gain enough levels for them to be available.
Storyline: This is the part of the game I mostly enjoyed. The story is nice and sticks to what you would be expecting for this type of game. It is well divided between the main quest and many side quests which complement well the game.
Tilt: Titan Quest was a game I was expecting a lot from, but was finally disappointed in terms of not delivering as much as I was expecting, but at the end, it's still a good game. It represents well the Hack-and-Slash type of game and for any new players of this genre, or old timers feeling nostalgic of Diablo, it definitively recommends this game.
