Taking stealth into the modern era, SC is great all around game. 0

Defining a new line of stealth action games, Ubisoft’s release of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell for the pc on February 17, 2003, busted out onto the scene with a lot of enthusiasm from fans awaiting the release. You’re known as Special Agent Sam Fisher working for the Third Echelon, a special agency within the government that no one really knows about, of course. You alone are asked to free the world of cyber-terrorists throughout the nine dramatic missions within the game. But don’t believe that j...

A confident but mediocre debut 0

Starting with the triple punch of Metal Gear Solid, Thief, and Tenchu in 1998, stealth slowly became a subgenre made possible by advanced lighting but it wasn't until Splinter Cell that it felt like it had a future. Splinter Cell continues to resonate with action and third-person shooter fans due to its elegant presentation, fluid action, and grounded military atmosphere. Returning to the original for the first time after many years, I was surprised to discover how many key elements of the serie...

    Great stealth game. 0

Splinter Cell is the ultimate stealth simulator, bar none. That being said, it does have definite problems that were implemented to keep it's stealth personality intact but that may come into conflict when you, the gamer, don't really want to follow the rules to the letter. First off, let's get this out of the way: The graphics are great. Even though the game is more than 2 years old it still looks awesome, especially the shadow effects. Although your enemies look a bit bland, Sam Fisher himsel...

    First one was great. 0

The first time you played Splinter Cell, you were playing something special. At the time it looked phenomenal, it had lots of cool gadgets, and lots of cool moves that made ya feel like a sneaky bad-ass. In the end it was a game that left you wanting more...however, the more we got in the later years the less we started to care....

Despite the fact that SC came out of nowhere. It's still one of t 0

To this day, I still don't know what got me into Splinter Cell. Was it the fact that I like spy stuff, or maybe the intriguing modern storyline? I don't know, but Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is still one of my favorite action games. You play as splinter cell agent Sam Fisher, splinter cells are so secret that if they get killed, their files are erased and they end up looking like they practically never existed. The story involves the newly elected president of Georgia (the country, not the state)...

An excellent stealth game trips up occasionally. 0

There are moments in Splinter Cell that make you feel like a well-trained super spy. Thinking on your feet to overcome a deadly situation, planning out and executing a complicated plan involving subterfugey gadgets and silently eliminating enemy combatants from the (beautiful) shadows are all common occurrences in this game, and they really are a lot of fun to experience. Other moments have you fighting will occasionally cumbersome controls, repeating certain sequences that devolve into little ...
