A decent edition to the FPS franchise with dinos
Turok: Evolution isn't the greatest FPS of all time, but it had it's unique moments. Throughout the game you'll obtain pretty much a whole armory's worth of weapons to use against your enemies. It plays similar to old school FPS's from the 90's (which I love). I lost track of the story most of the time to be quite honest. It's not very story driven at all, but that's not always a bad thing. The gameplay itself isn't too bad. Platforming can be a pain because sometimes it feels as if your character is running on ice. Some missions in this game recommend stealth, but I could never really get it down pat. It felt like I would always get spotted no matter what I did (maybe it's just me). The difficulty can get a little high sometimes, but not excruciating. Especially during the flying missions (which I suck at). Yes, there are flying missions every so often. I appreciate the breath of fresh air with the gameplay but these parts didn't really do anything for me. The graphics were decent for back in the day, but they aren't so pretty by today's standards. The controls themselves are a little confusing at first, but you get used to them. The load times are decent, not too long. The sound and music are actually pretty well done, despite the voices sometimes sounding like they're talking with their hand over their mouths. If you're a fan of the Turok series or classic FPS's then I recommend you give it a try.
