I take your point, but within context, it's seems pretty clear to me that she was joking.

Vinny likes the game, so she was intentionally calling him a nerd, which is the sort of razzing that people do with their friends. Given that she works for a video game website and has a passion for chess, I can't imagine her genuinely thinking that being a "nerd" is a bad thing, but who knows.

I was watching this at work and the 2nd to last Auto Royale battle had me laughing so hard I nearly got in trouble.

@nevergameover: I think it was meant as a joke, it was just delivered in a way that sounded serious. And you know what? As someone who used to play tabletop 40K, this DOES seem like a game for the intersection of Warhammer and Left 4 Dead nerds.

People get offended when someone jokingly calls a game "nerdy but fun"? Huh.

Then agan, as someone who played Warhammer Fantasy from 4th-6th editions and still plays several other Table-top miniature and Role-playing games, I can attest that some people out there take their hobbies VERY seriously.

The old standby is that it's hard to express intent over text, but I'm starting to think that the idea of "joking" really is alien to a surprisingly large number of people.

(of course, I have another theory about why people got mad about Abby's comment, given that this site has a long history of that exact style of "X is for Y" joke from other staff members, but someone else can go open that can of worms, I want no part in it)

My #1 piece of advice for the crew with Vermintide is to stick together more. There were a few moments where players were off doing their own thing. Everyone should be super close to one another as much as possible. That makes it a million times easier when there are groups of enemies because everyone is watching out for each other. You're generally going to get surrounded and killed if you try to lone ranger it.

Brad looked extra handsome during the Hunt: Showdown segment when he was playing on the VR computer against the green screen.

That Hunt game really grabs me about the setting, it communicates what it is about really well. the environment/atmosphere is incredibly rank and tense, you can almost smell it. I wince every time they wade in the water....

Vermicide looks good, and the auto H1Z1 came off as a fresh take in an already crowded arena of those kind of games.

i feel that every video in which the h1z1 car battle royale mode is played on this site is destined to have a moment where the car gets austin powers'd between two objects

What's up with reflections in Hunt: Showdown? I've watched several videos now and nobody mentions it. It seems like their solution suuuuuper fucks up when the reflected object is within several meters.

Jesus Christ Rorie. I was enjoying the chatter between the group playing the game until Rorie came in and just waffled on over them. I understand there is the Ask a Question feature from the chat but for crying out loud, just queue up a couple of questions and ask at the end of a level or something. Or just reply within the chat.
