" @onarum:   Oh haha. While I understand your beef I hope your being extremely sarcastic, all modern racing games have their technical limitations and yes Kaz knows what is supposed to happen. The EGO engine excels in certain areas as you point out for sure and it is cool when what we expect to happen does in fact happen, such as breaking through some barrier nets.   Outside of awesome lighting, good audio and graphics. What I always thought that Dirt does best is the handling. Obviously we have very little sensory input with a controller or wheel with rumble. But they really bring a brilliant sense of steering and I can't wait to see how they have improved upon their game design with the handling from Dirt2 to Dirt3. The changes from Dirt to Dirt2 alone was staggeringly good. Including a way better physics with shifting weight, and the feel of different road terrain. The simple-ass tuning menu was kinda lame though didn't do much for me. "

The cinematic replay really excited me.  This was pretty impressive.

Sign of a good game, right there. This is something all games should strive for, something I know Nintendo are good at; The first moment when the guy stepped on the gas and took the first corner, I got a little tingling in my fingers and immediately felt "oh god I want to try that".
 
Just seeing the car take off, wibble across the surface and drift around one corner, only half in control as it should be in rally, made me sense how fun it would be to play the game. Great stuff.

Are they showing off the Dirt box yet?  *snicker*

Also, I loved Dirt but skipped part 2 because I really didn't like the X-games style, perhaps because i'm European. Dirt3 looks awesome and should be a big improvement from the first Dirt I think.

No way this is pre alpha, I would expect much less sophistication. Not sure what a game dev. schedule is really like, but I guess that's impressive.  
 
Game looks pretty cool, the controls look good from here.

Hearing Dave say that Dirt 2 is his favorite racing game of all-time warms my heart. Couldn't agree more. That game is amazing. 

I really loving Dirt 2 on the PC right now. Very much looking forward to this.

" not a racing guy, but i have a question for those of you that might be? (no fanboy responses please!). I was going to buy a racing game on my PS3, either dirt 2, GTA 5, or maybe even Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. But I am thinking that is not as fun without my friends playing it as well? So i may pass on that (that's why i passed on Burnout, no one else was playing it...).
 
But as a none racer, a guy who does not know how to drift, which game should i pick up? Most user friendly? I was thinking Dirt 2 over GTA because the only racing game Ive liked in the past was Test Drive: Eve of Destruction, and that was dirt and car deformation and fun redneck events. I may get motorstorm 3 when it comes out, it looks fun even without liking racing games just like Test Drive, but i dunno? "

This game is looking top tier. Awesome!

Nice driving drew!  I'm impressed you did as well as you did, i'd have been all over the damned place.  Having the producer watching you and all.  Nervewracking!
 
Oh and I can not wait to get my hands on this game.

Definitely getting this on release day. I loved Dirt 2, and they seem to be putting in nearly everything I'd want from a sequel. Snow and ice, weather effects, adjustable time of day, more focus on straight up point-to-point rally races, twice the amount of tracks, the WRC license along with a bunch of classic rally cars... I'm fucking ecstatic.
 
Hopefully they'll also go all out with Grid 2. Grid was cool, but I felt they spread themselves a little too thin, putting in a ton of racing disciplines but not doing any of them particularly well. Also, the (as Drew put it) "plane moving on top of another plane" handling model from Dirt didn't translate very well to the road. Grid has a lot of potential, so hopefully they'll put the same care into Grid 2 that they seem to putting into Dirt 3.

Looks awesome, this was probably on the friday show, awesome for posting it.

Dirt 2 is in my top 3 racing games ever, so this might be biased but, this game looks good.

i can see them dropping the "Colin" name from now on, especially after the sendoff he got in the last game.  From a business POV it would save having to negotiate licensing with his family.

Looks great, will have to pre-order the PC version.

So glad it's going to be more of a mix between one and two, loved them both but when they didin't put my favourite car from Dirt 1 into 2, the C4 I was pretty gutted, it best be in this one. Hope they do put McRae's name on the European version at least.

Haven't played rally game since Colin 2 or something. This looks so good that need to give the genre a new shot

also, I didn't realize this was coming out in May, holy crap I'm not ready yet!

I used to love the Colin Mc Rae games back in the day but as technology advanced i moved away from driving games and found myself playing more shooters. I still need to get my hands on Dirt or Dirt 2 because the series looks awesome.

Looking forward to Dirt 3, hope it's a little less Americanized this time round. Codemasters know what their doing.

Huh. Battersea Park. I go past there every single day on the real-life equivalent of one of those trains that passes by in the background... seeing it in a videogame is uncanny. 

Looked great. Was a big fan of Dirt 2 but wasn't sure if I was gonna get 3. I think that just changed.

Never played Dirt 2, but this looks pretty fun.

The DiRT games are awesome. I'm excited to play this one. Graphics look nice to me.

Dirt 3 has the best looking dirt in any game ever.

I love the couch set up. You guys should do this for quicklooks as well.
