Sweet, but I sent this back to gamefly. Perhaps I'll pick it up next year when the game becomes cheaper.

The game without the DLC is about 20 hours long. That's far beyond the length of most games these days. Stop whining

This definitely smells of selling parts of the game that should have been included on the disk...

I know he's French-Canadian, but can't he pronounce "Bonfire of the Vanities" correctly in the promo video?

I agree with the above complaints about this DLC being part of the main story. It's lame to have to pay another 10 bucks for mid-timeline content, but at the same time ACII was filled with content on the disc. I'll probably pick this up anyway.

Yeah i gotta say, people really need to stop whining about DLC...i mean did you really need this content to complete the game for you? to make it full, whole!? no, the answer is no, you had enough!

Yes so i can see people getting annoyed that these DLC packs are positioned in the missing memory sequences, i mean that "looks" like it was missing from the game. But that aint the case, its just more of the same old missions and a bit of story. You pay if ya want more. Yeah ok...they planned ahead on this move, but so does every game developer, they were just a little more overt.

'Dose are my two cents!

Um, guys, in case you weren't aware, the two DLC packs are going to be $3.99 and $4.99 respectfully. That's less that ten bucks for both combined. No real reason to bitch about it.

I'm looking forward to the DLC. ACII certainly wasn't in need of additional content (it's a great length for a game), but I had so much fun playing that I'll be happy to return to Ezio next year.

lol yeah...

On topic though, I am totally for this DLC.  I get the idea of people disliking when devs release stuff that "should" have been in the game, but I'm just glad when I get more of a game I love.  This game, the disc version, is a complete game there is nothing missing from it.  So when they announce this and said they knew they were going to make it, it doesn't bother me.  Just like Mass Effect 2 they know they are going to make some DLC and they are designing the game around that.  This is just the smart way to do it so that the DLC fits in the game.

It's kind of a bummer that they cut this out of the main game (only a presumption, but whatever) to sell later, but I really want to play more Assassin's Creed II.  I think this makes me part of the problem.

So, would you guys have rather waited 'til February for Assassin's Creed II to come out? A different way to look at it is that you paid less than 10 dollars to get the "full game" 3 months earlier.

And it's not like AC2 didn't have enough content. You should be pissed off that they left out everything in AC1 so they could sell it to you in AC2, 'cause AC1 was the one lacking the content. >=[

Because there are two conveniently placed 'open spots' in the DNA-episode-chooser-thingy in the menu, which basically makes it look like you haven't completed the game until you get the two DLC's.

The complaints about how this should have been included on the disc are just stupid. Just because it's part of the story doesn't mean it should have been included on the disc. You would be complaining about the DLC if they said "alright, here is some DLC completely unrelated to the game, have fun." The fact is, some people will always complain about DLC. I don't know how you expect these developers to make DLC that isn't related to the story, didn't come out within five months of the game, and that they didn't plan ahead and add some infrastructure for the future to make adding DLC easier. Stop complaining about game companies trying to give you more content after the game is out. Granted some DLC is a ripoff *cough* Resident Evil 5 *cough* but that doesn't make all of it a ripoff. Your complaints just show how blind you are.

That's the way it looks to me as well. Not that any of this affects me since I never bought the game. I'll just wait and see if some "Game of the Year with DLC" bundle comes out next year at this point.

Well it's Ubi so yeah, probably cut from the game. Having said that, the most sensible way to design the game, assuming you're planning on having DLC, would be to leave some blanks. But yeah, it's Ubi. It'll have to be seriously good for me to consider getting.

Seeing as this DLC most likely won't have anything to do with the Desmond story I probably won't get it. Ezio's story has been told and I don't see the need elaborate on what happend in the missing DNA sequences.

I know its a lengthy game already  but I feel like its bullcrap that the Battle of Forli DLC wasnt in the game to begin with

I knew that they had something planned with Forli and Catharina Sforza because they barely did anything with them in the game, this DLC better be lengthy and cheap

I mean there are even memory blocks missing, The Bonfire thing doesnt offend me as much as the Forli DLC though

The full game had enough historical story missions in it and this doesn't feel like it adds too much.  I'll admit I was only in Forli for 3.5 percent of the game so the 1st one might be decent, but their second DLC should have been Tuscany (the other place you're barely in). Unless there are tie ins to secrets about the main story, I don't think so.

So much bitching going on here.

AC 2 was a complete game with a complete story. It was easily 20 hours long.

The stuff that's DLC doesn't relate to the main plot at all, it's simply other stuff that took place during Ezio's life. How else were they going to do that? If you finished AC2, you know that at the end of Ezio's story it wouldn't have made much sense to tack more on there.

Every dev plans ahead for DLC. That's how it works these days. Did they purposely hold this back from the disc? No, it probably wasn't complete back then. These are both over 1GB so they wouldn't even have fit.

Most of all, no one is making you buy this. AC2 is a complete game, if you loved it you might get the DLC, if you didn't then you won't. I bet most of the people complaining here haven't even finished AC 2 yet or played it at all. Vote with your dollars and stop crying bloody murder whenever DLC gets announced. It's such a kneejerk reaction.

*applause* Couldn't have said it better myself.

I'm buying both of them. I absolutly loved AC2 and it is probebly my game of the year. The story took a turne for the crazy at the end but I welcome it. I'm really looking forward to AC3 so this DLC will help quell the anticipation a bit so that I dont go owerboard.

To all you whiners who say this should have been in the game. No, it shouldnt have.
1. These are filler story lines.
2. Devs decide whats in the game and if you want more then you have to pay more for DLC thats just the way it is. And if you dont like it, don't buy it.
3. You arent entiteld to shit.
4. AC2 is over 20h long for fuck sake.
5. Complaning about it on a videogame website doesnt accomplice anything other then annoy the shit out of everyone else. If you have a problem whit what Ubisoft does whit their games then take it up whit them. Not that they will listen to some dumb shit complaning about the games DLC when theres content on the disc to last you for 20h+ but it might make you feel better.

1. play an RPG. There are filler storylines all over the place in games.
2. If it should be in the game, we shouldn't have to pay more for it. It's like buying an ipod, and then needing to buy the cord to connect it to your computer seperately.
3. If be buy the game, we are because we paid for it.
4. Maybe for you, i beat it in much less time.
5. Yeah it does. Developers check all kinds of communities for feedback about their game, and if people care about it enough they'll change it. You can even use AC as an example. When AC came out people complained about stuff like repetitive missions and an unlikable main character. ACII came out and the missions are no longer repetitive and you can empathize with Ezio. Do you think all the people who complained when to Ubi's website? hell no. Also, we might not expect things to change but on a video game website we can TALK about videogames. That's what we're doing. We're discussing whether the DLC is worth it or should have been in the game in the first place.

Haven't you guys heard? Bitching about DLC is the new shit, it's how you show you're cool these days on the internet.
Me personally, I think I will skip my usual cup of coffee on the way from work and spend that money on a few hours of entertainment instead. That being said i preferred my usual cup of coffee instead of buying the recent Borderlands DLC as I did not feel like paying only for some new enemies to shoot at that also comes with extra bad DRM (on PC). Voting with my wallet is like stroking my epeen, very fulfilling.

They probably shouldn't have even added the flori location in the original game disc I mean what do you do in that  town except for feathers, glyphs 1 small mission and a few other bits and pieces
