That was a big part of it, but another reason he got kicked out, according to a later Hetfield interview, was the clash of headstrong personalities.  James and Lars were already kind of butting heads with wanting to be in control, and adding Dave's as a third made it even worse.  So the incidents with Dave were a reason for them to lessen the stress of the band as well.  Also, Megadeth, my favorite band of all time, was a direct result.  I couldn't be more happy with the outcome, so I don't really care about the politics of who was "in the right." Doesn't seem like he has the pure & bitter hatred of the internet as Metallica, game might be good & will rent it though I'm still sticking with GH Metallica (for the tracklist of pure metal) over the other GH games.

Agreed. In the 80's and 90's they were pretty equal, but Megadeth definitely makes better music than Metallica nowadays. "

Megadeth is awesome, but Dave is a dick. I've worked for him a couple of times and... Great guitarist, don't get me wrong, and he's written some of my favorite songs ever. However... HUUUGE dick

Dave Mustaine rules, but not sure about this game yet (Even if I like the set list).

Guitar Hero's been played out since the ownership change after GH2, but I'd still love to play that final song to shove it in Mustaine's face.

While Metallica used to be an overall superior band, and their classic albums were more, shall I say, solid than Megadeth's, they have aged much, much worse. Megadeth's three latest records are at the very least listenable, while Metallica's are not.

As JohnnyV would say : Not funny brad!    

As far as gameplay... seems just like the last few thousand games they made.

Megadeth was incredible. It was a true tragedy when he sustained that car injury that kept
them from playing/touring for several years.  Wonder if they've put out any new albums or
it was over for good after the accident.
 
All in all, I'd rather see a new Megadeth album than another Guitar Hero game.  Try as I
might, I'm just not interested in those silly toy guitars for a game when I can play one of
my 2 real guitars instead & actually learn something while bringing satisfaction in the
performance & listening.

A customer that came into my work told me he thinks I totally look like Dave Mustaine. I don't think it's true, and have never heard it before, but I think it's worth mentioning. I've also heard I look like Kurt Cobain, and Lionel Richie.

If the track list wasn't so God damn bland I would be first in line for this. Unfortunately "Burning for You" and "Holy Wars" just aren't enough for $60. DJ Hero 2 on the other hand....well, that game looks fuckin incredible!

 Megadeth may be one of my all time favorite bands but I still wouldn't touch this game with a ten foot pole.

Bitter as he may be, Mustaine is hostoric!

I can't wait to start learning this on a REAL guitar.

I never liked these kind of games really. If you want to learn to play the guitar (or any other instrument for that matter), pick up a real guitar and start practicing the beJesus out of it! "

The art style just makes me want to puke. Terrible, terrible style. Rock Band is much more up my alley.
 
Also, yeah, Dave Mustaine is a bad-ass, though a little strange in some ways. Megadeth is some true metal shit.

Getting kicked out of Metallica was the best thing that could have happened to him.  He made his own band that was much more about reality and our place in it than the fantasy that Metallica was more about at the time.  Both great bands that ended up going in opposite directions, but still survived the metal crash of the 90s - although Megadeth kept it's cred as a metal band while Metallica is sad shadow of its former self.

Took me a few seconds to realise that he wasn't a Wookie when I saw the thumbnail image for this video.

Hope I can just download the song so I won't have to play the game for some sweet Mustaine-action.
