E3 2011: Bioshock: Infinite Trailer

Looks more like bio-storm. Some strange bulletstorm Bioshock hybrid. Looks awwwwright though.

@miracleboy: Nah, LA Noire is the new standard there now. Totally ruined all facial animation for me, it all looks outdated by comparison. Expensive as hell to do I'm sure but I still hope the technology spreads like wildfire.

I'm really looking forward to this. I skipped Bioshock 2, but this looks great.  Also, finally!

Wonder if I can still play this game as conservatively as Bioshock 1 and 2. Save up all the monies, health packs, bullets, and just become a one man army. 
 
Still the original 10 minute gameplay trailer I liked but I'm not sure if thats how it will play out in the game. This though gives a bit more look on a UI and more finished product so thats super good. 

I thought the first 2 bioshocks were allright, nothing amazing, but fun.
 
This game looks really really great though. I'm really liking the art style too(except the character models, that dialogue scene with elizabeth, the character model looked really off. That's a pretty minor complaint in the grand scheme of things though)

They brightened it up. On one hand this is good because I like to see things. On the other it's bad because the original was all about the atmosphere and a feeling of suspense. I guess they really are trying something new here.

Does anyone else think that the gameplay looks confusing as hell?

I don't want hand holding, but I'm interested to see how they will guide you through the game...

Should be called `BioShock - RollerCoaster City` just saying

Are you shitting me? BioShock 2 was an abomination that Ken Levine didn't want to be a part of. He isn't "draining the name", he never even wanted BS2 to begin with.

He's saying that Irrational only really did the first Bioshock game, another developer did Bioshock 2, probably at the behest of 2K Games, so saying that Irrational is "draining the name for all it's worth" is kind of silly.

Not really. I'm aware BioShock 2 was made by 2K Marin. It was also incredibly enjoyable and felt far less testosterone fuelled and dumb as the first. But mostly, I appreciated the way they ended the series with BioShock 2. "Infinite" feels like the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to BioShock 2's Last Crusade (wow, that's the nerdiest thing I've said in a while). But hey, take whatever you can get off to. Dumb games are still fun too :)

Bioshock Infinite has about as much to do with the story of Bioshocks 1 and 2 as Raiders of the Lost Arc has to do with The Empire Strikes Back. It's an entirely new adventure in the spirit of the Bioshock/System Shock series of games.  That said, Elizabeth's eyes are freaking me out a bit.

For some reason right now I'd be super curious to see Irrational's take on a Rollercoster Tycoon game.

This game will be incredible.

This looks like so much harder game play than the original plus its more of a next chapter to BioShock then a continuing story like BioShock 2 was, we'll see if it holds it own though

I've said it before, I'll probably say it again, but at first, I couldn't care less about this game, but the more I see and read about it, the more excited I am to see and hear MORE about it. Also, Booker DeWitt is an awesome name.

It looks like most everything done is in a cartoony style rather than a realistic one.  I'm not a fan of the face shape myself, but their art direction probably has a 'vision'.  I don't mind the chest, though, good to see healthy chests in video games in these days where Lara croft can't fill out her sweater.

@Asmundergunderson: Yeah that too, but I didn't want to expect Irrational to use that tech since it's probably not reasonable.

That's kind of how Bioshock figures are shaped. It's a very slightly exaggerated/cartoony style. For some reason it makes me think of 50s styles, but I couldn't tell you why.

Same here. Guess this means Booker is going to develop a romance with her at some point and they didn't want her to seem too young.

Also they should have called it Aeroshock. 

This game keeps looking better and better, the graphics looks so close to CG that it's unbelievable.

Man, underwater, now in the sky... What's next? Maybe they could make a game in space... Call it Spaceshock, or something. No, more tech sounding. What about System Shock?
