E3 2012: It's Just Not E3 Without a Metal Gear Trailer

I dunno how to feel about this game, looks kinda rough.

God damn Depeche Mode, they make such good trailer music. Also, the trailer is cut pretty cool but I caught the game's demo on Spike a couple of days ago and it looks kind of rough.

What an odd subtitle "revengence". I like Metal Gear Rising, however; they needed to get away from Solid since Snake has been put away.

Raiden was a really fantastic character in MGS4 so it should be fun to play him with his catalogue of abilities. The gameplay they showed made it look like an open-world game, which could be a bad move. A Metal Gear game without stealth would be disappointing.

I couldn't care less if this is the best playing game ever made, if the story doesn't continue on what the rest of the series started then I wont be fucking near it. Looks to me like it's shaping up to be a shallow button masher

The slicing mechanic looks tacked on and dumb. If you can cut all the way through a helicopter in 1 slice, then why would anything require more than one hit to kill? And why would you keep slicing the helicopter? Don't get me wrong, it's visually cool, but that's going to wear thin in... 30 minutes, tops?

Tacked on? The slicing mechanic was the focus of the game since it was first revealed.

Really disgusted by what they did with this games development, everyone about just sounded like something going really really wrong. Maybe it still does. But that demo was pretty cool, so.. I guess we'll see.

And then that game got cancelled and Platinum started making this one. The slicing mechanic looks like an holdover from Kojima's game.

Awesome. just,AWESOME. i understand it's not your standard metal gear and i am fine with that. you can definetly tell this is still a metal gear game in its soul.

I ... I still want this but I don't know why ... has to be some Kojima brain-washing bullshit. Also the original demo for this looked amazing. This looks rough as fuck, oh well ... goes to show!

Two things:

A) Gosh what a bloody bloody game. It's not the bloodiest but it has so much glory gore compared to the rest of the metal gear games. BUT it looks so damn cool. The departure from the formula/feel/whatever is kinda great, the tone works even if it feels a bit cheesy.

B) I feel like half the people in the comments haven't played MGS4 because they keep trying to crack jokes about things that aren't all that new, e.g. anything at all that challenges Raiden's masculinity. I've always been a fan of Raiden's more effeminate characterization, it's a good contrast to the Sirs Snake.

I've been completely in for this since the VGA trailer. They couldn't sell me more on this if they tried.

Gameplay looks very fun.  A lot of what I`ve seen of this so far strikes me as everything I had hoped Ninja Gaiden 3 would be. 

Good use of Depeche Mode.

I'm honestly shocked that people are worried about the development of this game. I mean, I get that they dont want a metal gear without snake, but this is Raiden. Platinum Games will NOT fuck up an action game. Jesus Christ. Just take a look at their track record and maybe try a game or two...Day one for sure.

Wow people complaning about this need to get something for the lack of attention problem , this is not a Metal Gear Solid game is a Metal Gear RISING game the Lighting Bolt Action wasn't specific enough for you?... why do I even bother, cannot wait to play this crazy Kojima thing plus crazy Platinum thing? YES!
