The Empire: Total War series has interested me for a while, I just need a good PC.
 
It seems like an interesting war to fight. I wonder if you like, "change history." Seems pretty cool.

Empire: Total War is kind of a joke when compared to the rest of the series (Shogun, Medieval 1+2, and Rome). The units manage to be even more similar across all factions than they were in Medieval 2, and the multiplayer maps are in dire need of being balanced.
 
I think it's kind of funny they're making a Native American expansion like Age of Empires 3 did, which was also a flub compared to its predecessors.
 
Also they're already making Napoleon: Total War which will encompass the late 1700s on through Napoleon's time, so unless you really want to play the revolutionary war, this will become obsolete.

Can I also be allowed to point out all the historical inaccuracies in this? The Huron didn't live in tepees, and even if they did, they wouldn't have built totem poles. If you're a nomadic culture (the Huron weren't, but humor me) why the hell would you drag around a big heavy log if you didn't have to?

I agree.. I just can't see myself paying money just to play as some native factions. They are not that badass.
 
Empire: Total War dissapointed me in general, but I suppose it isn't really its fault. I just feel like the time period isn't that interesting in terms of units and whatnot. Every team has 4 units; Cavalry with swords, cavalry with guns, infantry with guns, and cannons. Thats it. There is a bunch of upgrades but they don't really do anything other than make them slightly more powerful. Plus castle sieges feel so out of place.
 
I hope the next game will go back to medieval, It just feels like the best time period for these games. So much variation in units between factions and all that.
 
If they added the ship battles to medieval 3, it will be sweet, plus a castle or town builder would be amazing =P

This . . . is a bit of an exaggeration.
 
The answer to Mikemcn's original question is: not well, unless the Native soldiery has a lot of tactical advantages.

A good archer can get off 20 or so accurate arrows a minute, compared to the 3 shots a trained european solder can pull off. The only thing the gun has over the bow is range, but if you find a way to get in close, you will do a shitload of damage with a bow. Not to mention that native Americans were far better trained and equipped for hand to hand combat. 
 
Really the only reason the native Americans were wiped out was because they were betrayed and tricked politically. 
 
Looking foreward to some new DLC.. Hopefully the online campaign will come with it.

I really hope that the various Indian tribes can use guerilla tactics, like they did in reality. If they fight like the European factions then why would anyone want this addon?
