Man it's great that Dan can go toe-to-toe with Jeff, and how Jason seems to be able to keep up with the crew's crazy Brad-related commands, but... Can Brad just become the designated DOTA guy and can his stuff just be segregated from the rest of the crew's content? It's seriously becoming annoying at this point.

Brads right that unpausing thing needs to be addressed, even if your being a nice guy and pausing for them theres nothing you can do to stop your teammates from unpausing like assholes.

Usually I hate when things change, especially with Vinny gone and 2 "new" (Dan's been around but not this permanently) people are added, but I must say Jason & Dan are pretty awesome

Dan and Jason are an absolute perfect fit for Giant Bomb , i'm really looking forward to seeing the awesome stuff that they are going to be doing.

Also someone besides Patrick to defend Yoshi's Island. Jeff, go watch Dan play through the whole game. He's amazing at it. He'll make you want to learn how to use that egg-throwing mechanic.

Pretty awesome stream, the new boys are both settling in really well. I like Dan's inquisitive nature, really seems to be gelling well.

And man, that SF2 fight between Jason & Jeff needs a rematch!

Wish dota wasn't on here, but what's more American than subjecting people to something they don't always want I guess.

Wooo Freedom stream, had to miss the live show because of my very non-freedom loving work.

I remember renting that SNES American Gladiators game back in the day, and I think it just may be the worst game i've ever played.

Welcome Dan and Jason. Great fit. The energy and enthusiasm Dan brings is awesome. Hope to see Jason take part of future quick looks and shows.

@danryckert If you are still interested in learning any dota, for the international this year valve is running a "Dota Newcomers Broadcast", that should help. Also a pro player named purge wrote a very good guide for new people that you can find on steam.

Freedom / White Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays, GB and BBQ.

I wonder what they'll add to the next retron.

So strange to have someone on the crew that isn't all innuntated in the GB culture. Can't remember it was the same way with Patrick, but I guess he could sit more in the background at first.

I basically feel the same way about it as you do, honestly it seems like a bit of a rip-off since they're just using emulation which I'd rather do on my PC. The Retron 3 (which contained actual hardware -- clones of the real deal though apparently the SNES part was pretty spot-on) sounded interesting though. Using original controllers is kind of nice, it's not like it's impossible on PC but I think there aren't many people making the required USB adapters / drivers for that (back in the day I built my own parallel-port adapter for a SNES controller). I kinda wish the Retron folks would sell their controller port thingie separately (would require some driver work I'm sure).

As for your question, I think the target audience is the same kind of person who wants a separate box to hookup to their TV vs. just connecting their PC / playing on computer monitor. I don't understand those people but it seems like a pretty common desire.

i'm sure i'm ignorant but didn't they used to have to break like every 2 hours to archive footage? or do they only do that during long ass streams just in the interest of breaking them into more manageable bits? i always thought there was a technical reason they did it.

The Retron 5 sounds like crap, at least over the streams. Contra sounded terrible earlier as well.
