Gran Turismo, Then And Now

So either this game will be a compilation of pre-rendered races with some rock music to it..
or it'll look like this in-game and everyone be like "nghh.......!" 
 
I for one do not think I'll be struck with awe, but I still want to play it.

People are already losing interest in Gran Turismo 5 and the PSP version didn't fill them with confidence so Sony HAVE to release the game as quickly as possible. 

Fucking hell. Another bunch of mediocre clips re-edited and set to music. I really thought in the last 3 seconds of this movie they'd reveal something new, maybe rain weather effects or possibly some real damage, but no just boring old crap. 
 
For fuck sake Polyphony, you need to really pull something out of the hat, I'm sure alot of hardcore fans are losing patience now...

Apparently the point of this trailer is to show off the graphical prowess of the Playstation 1, they made GT1 look amazing.

How is this going to be a revolution?  Since the old one same out we have had every type of racer you can imagine multiple times.
 
Hell you have a whole major realistic racing game series has risen since GT4 came out. ¬__¬

Well, GT5 looks nice, really nice. But GT is in my opinion not a fun game. The first one was fun cause we had never seen anything like that, but if this is the same as GT 2,3, and 4 i think I'll pass. Every new GT game left me thinking "Driving a car in 100 mph in real life feels fast, and this doesn't". So good looking but slow, no thanks. And yes i know that you get faster, really fast cars later on, but its not my cup of tea do take a bunch of drivers licenses in a game, it's enough in real life. In a game i want the fast cars immediately, and then I'll just have to learn to drive in the races. Crash and burn is fun ^_^

at this point...who cares anymore?  there's so many driving games out there.

at  this point if Sony don't announce the Release Date for GT5 at their E3 presser I may sell my GT, GT2, GT3, GT4, GT5P discs and be done with it. There is a long time and then there is the wair for GT5.

so, I'm just thinking here, but in the time they've been working on GT5 they probably could have made and released GT5 and GT6, and even if they didn't sell as much as GT5 will probably sell, put together they probably would have sold a lot more than GT5 alone will sell. 
 
This is the Call of Duty model, and works quite well... There is no way GT5 will sell more copies than Call of duty has this generation, Though dare I say, if you pick one of the last three, that GT5 won't sell more than any individual Modern Warfare or later Call of Duty.

You all care so much about nothing. Every time anything is posted about GT5, I read the same old rhetoric. Either wait for the game or play Forza.

Fanboys always throw out the 1000 car figure when trying to boast about GT5, but how many of those cars are the same model with a different paint job? Sure there probably are more car models than there are in Forza but if you are counting cars with the same paint job then Forza surely has millions? 
 
GT5 is and has been just there to get people to buy PS3's in waiting. If it wasn't for the wider steering wheel support the PS3 has then I wouldn't be interested, because my console needs are easily covered by the 360, I don't need to buy a new console for another racing game.

I like Forza, but GT has always been just boring to me. Not sure why. Just impossible to penetrate.

They better hurry up and get this thing out, how long has it been in development? I was never a fan of the Forza series until I tried 3, and it defiantly is a quality sim-racing game. With all the delays and hype around GT5, it better blow my fuckin socks off.

It's probably just the video compression, but I think Dirt 2 looks better.
Then again, I am playing that on PC.

Come on Polyphony, how long can you make a racing game? I remember GT5 footage (renders of course) presented during the grand PS3 presentation... and still no release date. Ridiculous.
