Grant Kirkhope is a great composer, but I really don't like that he made a bad version of the Spider-Man movie theme.

Okay, I get that the narrative is about writing your own story and not being held down by fate. But the problem is that they say that everyone is on their path in life and that's how it is. However, fate decided to have a Gnome create a machine that could bring people back from the dead and then they have no fate, thus bringing the passage of fate that had determined the course of this world for a millennium crashing down and changing the world.

Why the hell would fate allow something to happen that would destroy it?

This game looks like what Fable was trying to be, but failed. I can't wait to play this.

Not if that fate only had control over the other fate which in and of itself only had control over the fate of living things on the planet. At that point though you are getting into the idea that fate is some intelligent being/god that lorded over things. At which point you just get into the endless, if god made everything what made god, and what made that, and what made that paradox. Which I highly doubt a video game written by a generic fantasy writer would really get into trying to explain.

it is. They are still making a MMO based on this world. They just started out by making a single player rpg

The music in this makes me happy. I might buy that game.

This game looks like it could be really good. The way people describe it as Elder Scrolls but with better combat sounds amazing.

This video has pushed me from cautiously optimistic to definitely buying this game.

Hm, aesthetically it's still not doing it for me. Some spots look great but overall, the art style (and simplistic interface) reminds me too much of Fable or an MMO. I also hate how NPC's have a glowing outline as if it were an MMO. Hopefully you can toggle that off. QTE combat? I've never liked it before but we'll see. Despite all of that I'm still pretty interested, especially in all of the loot.

I really don't care about game designers sitting around talking about how awesome their coworkers are. Name dropping famous authors or designers you are working with doesn't sell me on the game.

Tell me about the GAME, better yet, show me the game in action. This is an overly long marketing video.

Ever since I heard this game was very much like an Elder Scrolls on the Bombcast I've become very interested. Having R.A. Salvatore doesn't hurt either. I really loved The Dark Elf Trilogy back in the day. There are a tonne of Drizzt books now and they're all pretty good reads if you're into fantasy adventure.

This game seems like Yet Another Fantasy RPG #237. Everything from the name onward seems totally generic.

If the combat turns out to be as interesting as I've heard, I'm gonna love this game.  For some reason, it sort of reminds me of Darksiders, but more open.  Might be the chunky monster design, I dunno.

I am more interested in this then the MMO.

I'm amazed how high some of you people hold these marketing videos. yes the point of the video is to get people interested and hopfully preorder game. If you don't think everything seem great you shpuld also remember this game comes out in 4 months, so I doubt they are anywhere near done. I like rpg's and want to play this game. I am waiting and hoping the books or comic come out soonn so I can firgure out waht the world is realy about. That's what going to sell the game to me, if I can read and enjoy the books learning about this new world that will be great.

I'm running it progressive (it only does it when using the normal (flash based?) player, not the html5 player), I'm on a macbook pro (mid 2010 w/8 GB RAM and 2.66 i7) and i'm running the newest versions of chrome, flash player, and OS X 10.6.8

not sure...videos didn't always do this...just seemed to start recently

Agreed. I'll be buying the game, probably day one, but I'm probably not going to give two shits about story. /brace for incoming flames

This game is looking great and good to know the narrative designers are actually thoughtful individuals that understand story lines and how they should interact with a game world. Watch Bulletstorm/Gears narrative vids to see the polar opposite of intellectual narrative design.
