too little, too late

I wonder how this happened.  Usually when a small house rolls out a shit game it sells poorly and since they have no reserve cash they fold promptly.  But here the game was garbage they gave themselves lots of bad PR, and still they had enough cash to fix a few warehouses full of bugs.  Maybe this was an MS financed thing and they expected it to go the full trilogy so they were willing to risk a little more cash. 
 
As long as that list of fixes is, the printed notes are endless.  Missing from that list "Added something approximating an ending".

Bought the game in the summer, nice to see them support the game like this. I'll think I will restart my playtrough and go trough it from the start.

i would like to see a "QL Redux Edition" for this game. 

Good on the developers that they went and fixed their broken game instead of ignoring it, and it looks like they put a lot of effort into it to.
Bad on them for not releasing it properly in the first place.

Damn, that's a lot of stuff they say in the video, and I'm honestly afraid to look at the list of changes. I'm on board with the sentiment of getting another QL of this some time, but if it happens it'll be in 2011.

Even though it seems they are actually making meaningful improvements to what was apparently a sucky game, it's a little too late for me to care.

Buying this now, hopefully more developers will see this and take note for the future, they should've done this with so many other games (Medal of Honour anyone?)

Looks decent now though.

My main problem was the first one addressed.  Maybe I've been coddled by games too much, but I spent so much time wandering around aimlessly hoping that whichever door I went through would progress the story that I needed a useful waypoint.  I don't agree on throwing waypoints in to the more explorative sections, or when you have to find a body that has a clue on it, but I'd be in empty rooms just trying every door.
 
A lot about this game reminded me of PS1 games.  The ideas were weird and kind of singular, I think it would've been extremely memorable for that era.

Wow this is awesome. Imagine if every developer would take advantage of online enabled consoles like this and update/fix their games.

see, THAT'S how you update a game. none of that "oh we'll fix this in the sequel" nonsense. just listen to the fans and get to work.

This is really awesome. Hydrophobia is probably one of the worst games I played this year, but good on the developers for trying to un-fuck it.

I enjoyed this game even before the patch and the update is a big improvement in many areas. Unfortunately the update also dumbed it down, as waypoints now lead you to "hidden" ciphers directly.

That's actually pretty impressive that they would take that much time to improve it. Of course, ideally these problems wouldn't have existed in the first place, but the fact that they are listening to the complaints now means that they really care about making a solid product.

Sweet. It really was a good idea for me to wait.

You hated our game, so we changed EVERYTHING and lowered the price. PLEASE give us money so that we may buy food...

Impressive that they took all the feedback and updated the original game instead of rushing out a sequel to implement the new features.

You have to give them props for this lot of changes.

I am genuinely impressed that the developers are listening to feedback, and then proceeding to apply an update based on said feedback. I expressed some interest in getting the game, but now I'm glad I waited so I can get a more improved experience.

The voice acting and lack of ending i guess are things that are harder to patch in. But the game is really 10x better after the update, I'm very impressed. For 800 pts it's kind of ridiculous value really.

Ok... I think I'm gonna check this out now. Well done, developers!

Wow, ten minutes after going back, it feels a lot better.
