Lost Planet 3 Is Avatar, Basically

This is the first time I've been interested in a Lost Planet game. The narrative looks interesting. Yeah, I care about story. Crazy, right?

The part I didn't like about Lost Planet 2 was the parts fighting humans. Why increase that? Did thy learn nothing from Red Faction Guerilla --> Armageddon?

i dunno why, but i like the design of the main character. he looks like he should be wearing a robe, with a staff, guiding people through a canyon and offering them pizzabread

I played this at Eurogamer last year and I really didn't get why it was called Lost Planet 3, it bares no resemblance to the previous games in anyway (other than snow and glowly weakpoints). I played a lot like Red Faction: Guerrilla in terms of movement and shooting but with the atmosphere in some places of Dead Space. I thought the robot segments were really awful though. They're first person and clunky and slow whereas I thought the robots were fun in the first game which was a game I actually quite liked even if the story was dumb as hell. This game is such a knee jerk reaction to how poor the second game did but I think they've tarnished the brand and this should've been a new ip, no one would've noticed.

Looks a lot better than I would have thought.

I enjoyed the other Lost Planet games...but I really don't think I can care about this protagonist enough to warrant paying full price.

But seriously, I enjoyed the last two Lost Planet games. LP2 was really unique with it's co-op mechanics and I just loved the overall technology design and crazy action sequences. I'm aware I'm an exception to the rule though, both games presented deeply flawed experiences.

I believe Capcom is in an interesting spot with LP3, expectancy is very low and they can basically create ANY type of game since both predecessors are so different from one another.

At first I was like, "Umm, how is this like Avatar?"

But then Daddy-leader-of-the-Natives showed up with daughter-who-doesn't-want-daddy-to-kill-Whitey-because-he-understands-them and they start talking about white-people-just-showed-up-and-started-taking-from-land-with-no-love-love.

And then I was like, "Yeah, that's Avatar."
