Madden vs. Wolfenstein: The Wager

I think Jeff is going to win.

So this bet can't even include PC gamers? That seems to give Jeff a bit of a disadvantage when Wolfenstein is a FPS and the franchise started off on the PC.  I can't see him winning this at all.

Jeff will lose. Not even competition. He is over-estimating people's anticipation of wolfenstein.

I'd love to see Wolfenstein outsell Madden, mainly because I hate the fact EA rehashes the same sports games every year at full price. Which I find disgusting.

I'm sorry Jeff, Dave has this. I think your overestimating the user base, seeing how there are multiple football (both versions) fantasy leagues starting up for the start of the seasons. I think a significant chuck of the GB users are sports fans and Wolfenstein.......kinda forgotten in the wasteland that is the FPS genre.

Jeff, enjoy your drink. Wolfenstein is getting demolished. With so many other high-profile FPSs coming out, I'd be surprised if we don't see stories about how Wolfenstein isn't getting good sales. Same with Borderlands actually.
 
Madden is just too big for Wolfenstein to take down.
 
I will not be playing either, but I've got a PS3, not a 360, so I guess it doesn't really matter in the context of this bet.

Man you dudes are crazy, there's nothing wrong with gin as long as you drink it properly. Get a bottle of grape fruit -flavored soda, pour in about two to three fingers of gin and fill the rest of your (about 4 dl) cup with soda. Mix and drink.

Jeff... never underestimate the power of the NFL and Madden.  I refuse to play Madden myself, I loved the 2K games.  I still play ESPN NFL 2K5 to this day.  Sadly, I believe Jeff will lose.

Not sure how this will go, normally I'd say Madden no doubt, but considering that it is based off the GiantBomb user base and more so only those users with linked accounts...well I just don't know.  It'll be interesting to see.

i think madden is a pretty clear victor here. i mean as far as fps go, wolfenstein doesn't even look that great in comparison to the rest of this year's offerings.

I like to believe that Jeff is right, that more people here at GB would prefer a half decent shooter over a rehashed 10th version of a really shitty sports game franchise.  I'm excited to see the result of this bet.

Although, Jeff may be banking on the fact that tons of GB users aren't from America and therefore would not be playing Madden. This may be a smarter bet than I originally thought. 
 
Either way, I think the amount of Gin that gets drank needs to be decided by how much more users play what game.  Like: 
 
1 to 499 more users = 1 shot 
500 to 999 more users = 2 shots 
1000 to 1999 more users = 3 shots 
2000 to 3999 more users = 4 shots 
4000+ more users = the whole damn bottle

Sure Madden is winning if you count all the Americans playing. But outside of America Madden isn't that popular and Wolfenstein has a greater chance to be played. So this could be interesting.
