MVS Mania: A Neo Geo Live Stream

I've been waiting for Giant Bomb to do a Neo Geo stream, this is exactly what I hoped for.

I just wish they played some more games, like Metal Slug and/or Baseball Stars.

$300 for one game is absolutely ridiculous, especially 15-20 years ago. I'm kinda mad at the Neo Geo system out of principle, even thought I've never even seen one in real life and it had zero impact on my life.

If I had paid $300 for that Street Fighter ripoff, I probably would have quit playing games entirely after that. It's like Jeff's disappointment over Strider multiplied by a thousand.

You are totally missing the point. They weren't ports. They were arcade boards in cart format. It was the exact game from the arcade, but playable in your home, over a decade before console ports started to be on par with their arcade counterparts.

Neogeo is one of my most favorite console. I don't really like fighting games but I love its Shmups. I bet they got Omega cMVS. I really want to get one but it's $500 and I need to save money for PS4.

Great stream. Grabbed Money Exchanger on PSN on a whim after seeing this and couldn't stop playing it. It's like Critter Crunch with simpler rules.

I really ought to get a VITA with the pricecuts.. bought the Phantasy Star Collection (PS2 version) from the Japanese network, English language options for all games. To play it like it was a modern age Sega Nomad..

Because the site transition and URL changes to Giant Bomb, I couldn't find an embeddable player with Greg Kasavin reading the Samurai Shodown 2 introduction, but I was able to re-jig the link and downloaded it, so I just uploaded it to YouTube.

Sweet, I was away for a couple days and come back to this. This is why Giant Bomb is forever.

The Samurai Shodown series was ok but man, The Last Blade is just the greatest 2D sword based fighting game I've ever played.

I was also a lot more into The Last Blade series than Samurai Shodown games. I think that was mostly because it felt a lot more like a KOF game in terms of how it plays, but I still really appreciate Samurai Shodown 2 a lot.

I've also been to the burrito place Rorie is talking about. He ain't lying, that place is TERRIBLE. Recently changed ownership, the original was INCREDIBLY bland and apparently the new owners decided the spice they were missing was SALT. Saltiest thing I've ever eaten. And one time I ate a big heaping bowl of SALT!

This was such an awesome stream watching Brad go into "the zone". Also I love Rorie so much, two different shoes and socks and had no idea. LOL

Despite Brad's statement, there is absolutely no reason children cannot view 3D images. So as it turns out, there is actually no good reason for the Nintendo 2DS.

Samurai Shodown 2 is the main game I used to go to the arcade with a friend to play. Endless matches of Charlotte vs Hanzo or Kyoshiro vs Gen-an. Mashing vs. execution, but neither of us ever really got the upper hand. He's passed on now, and I don't feel any need to play it after having invested so much time previously. But it's nice to see it.

I've never seen Money Puzzle Exchange or heard tell of it outside of the occasional namedrop on the Bombcast... and I think I've just found my favorite Neo Geo game.
