Only art design that wasn't terrible was the woman. Voice acting on par with a sub-par anime translation =( Not to mention the colors looked very washed out.

I am so confused about this game... so i if I can get this strait:
NIER is a 360 game which takes place 30 years later than the NIER that's for the ps3.
there's also a ps3 version of the 360 game called NIER replicant, but does not involve the same characters, just the same events. there's also some weird change in the art design for the ps3 version, of NIER, with a much younger protagonist...

Seriously, what happened to Square and Enix? Since the merger they are producing run-of-the-mill JPRGs left and right.

you know what, square-enix just hasn't been putting out good games lately. (Except for the Dragon Quest, Dragon Quest monsters and etc.)
I liked the enix's style before it was merged and now it's just more square style.
And square style most of the time is crap. I mean I don't even like Final fantasy because I just find it too melo dramaish.
We need more different type of rpgs for current consoles from square-enix.
 
I don't know if Nier will have what we are looking for but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Cavia told some delightfully fricked up stories in Drakengard 1 & 2, so I'm willing to gamble on their narrative chops again. Good video game stories are a little too rare these days. 
And what have the graphics got to do with anything? I'd happily see more money spent on halfway decent translation and localization than visual prettytude.

aww, I was actually sort of interested until I saw this...what is it with Japanese storytelling and it's excessive melodrama? Not to mention the voice work sucks.
