Plus Burke would totally lie to her to get her to go on the mission.

Burke is responsible for ordering the Colonists to explore the derelict alien ship without any kind of preparation for what they were in for and also released face hungers on Ellen and Newt so when they were in stasis the embryos could get past military quarantine and into the hands of Weyland-Yutani.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it may be terrible. I'm more curious about how intelligent the audio design will be. I mean if I walk by that window looking straight down at the ground will she still gasp in terror like an idiot? I sincerely doubt something like this could replace Dead Space as my favorite Alien(s) homage in a video game. You know, a series of games that doesn't even use this license.

I just hope we don't get Gearboxed on this one.

When was the last time there was a good game based on this license? The last one I can think of is AvP2, and that was released over a decade ago. Not holding out much hope of this being any better.

IGN played it and really liked it, though that can change in the end. Please be good!

If I remember correctly, Ash, the android played by Ian Holm in Alien, was instructed by Weyland-Yutani to retrieve the alien at any cost. Seems pretty eviiiil to me.

If this actually turns out to be even mildly okay, this will easily take the cake as biggest surprise EVER.

Not expecting much from this, but it did kind of make me want an Aliens vs. Predators: Total War game, even if it sounds like a completely terrible idea.

@dberg: I would have told you that same thing years ago about Batman games. Then Arkham Asylum happened. It has nothing to do with a franchise, but the creative team working on it.

Hope this turns out good. Although I have to say I can't believe some of the comments here about playing as a female character. Its a lot better than playing as some steroetypical dumb macho marine like with the Gears of War franchise.

Let us hope they don't rush this through and actually release a game in a stable format. Looks incredible, though.

I firmly trust Creative Assembly to bring an amazing survival horror game out. I mean, after their track record with... uh... well, I mean, I think they made a Viking game once that wasn't an RTS... but, I mean look at the track record for Alien games! They've all been... oh... right...

Well... it looks kinda pretty, I guess.

I hope this is good but the rare time Creative Assembly has tried to do something non-RTS, it hasn't worked out so well.

Anyone getting their hopes up for an action game made by The Creative Assembly is a better person than i am. Looks like the atmosphere is good, but its a lot easier for a movie to skate by on tension and atmosphere than a game, so we'll see how it comes out.

everything looks great, except the actual movement of the alien at the end. prancing up to you like some dude. but yeah, not enough to judge it on yet. looks promising though.

You are out of your mind if you think this has any chance to be good.

I'm going to set myself with no expectations for this game to be good, so that means it will, right?

Maybe I am wrong. I would love to be wrong about it, as well as any other game I think is going to be terrible... but I guess that helps me cope with expectations.

Besides, I don't know what credentials the Total War guys have with horror games.

Its not an Aliens game, its an Alien game. Very important difference.

Creative Assembly's first fp game. Seems VERY inspired by Amnesia. I think the Ripley's daughter angle is too restrictive, they would be better served by using something less directly related to the Alien universe.

Maybe this will fix the horror that was Colonial Marines? (my poor soul)

Wait, are we SURE this is an Alien game? I mean this looks like a moody, tense, dark sci-fi tale preying on things like fear of the unknown and being alone. I mean alien games are all about yelling GET SOME! GEEEET SOOOOOOOOOME!!!!! whilst mowing down hordes of easily killed fodder, right?

Same problem with Black Flag but that game was fun.

The thing that caught me by surprise was seeing The Creative Assembly logo...hmmm, interesting.
