see this is why they are selling experience points as extra, cause the probably realized they could cash in if people got stuck. See this is why i wont play dante to get to a trials type of level after all the other stuff seems to be such a collapse in the games build. Its to bad

kinda makes me wanna take this off my GameFly list cause I don't really wanna deal with that...

Everytime he got knocked back i cringed that it would end. Just watching this frustrates me

Just watching this makes me want to buy the game, then buy an apartment on the highest floor in the building just so it would be more satisfying when I through my controller out the window.

It took me like 5 tries to do this challenge, it kept glitching on me and saying I failed after the last enemy died.

Don't feel bad Ryan. I would have thrown this game out of the window a LONG time ago. Not being to beat a crappy game with dumb level design doesn't make you any less of a gamer.

Ryan probably should not have invested so much in unholy. But otherwise I did not like these challenge room segments all too much either.

Man, I felt as frustrated watching this as if I was playing it myself.

Ryan ryan, not to make you feel bad but my first play through this game was in unholy path only and for this challenge you even dont need the cross. All you have to do is light attack - light attack - strong attack (that attack knocks the enemy's down and then repeat). Nothing else, beat it in my second try.

 Should have chosen the righteous path, Ryan! The leveled up cross attacks make this challenge a breeze! :)

Addendum: The response this vid has gotten tells me there should be another Endurance Run but with a different meaning of the word "endurance." Instead of endurance meaning time-investment, endurance now means having your ass handed to you: Ryan and guest play through Devil May Cry 3 on the hardest difficulty setting. Go.

This was both great and terrible. I'm so glad Ryan finally started hitting those demon babies with the scythe instead of the cross because it was stressing me out.  So GOW III...

Oh LAWD! I feel all stressed just watching! This game must be bad for one's health.

yah agreed. and plus ur a dick. the game shouldnt be designed likethat in the first place. the relic should be used as an aidnot an almost neccesity to winning the challenge. ryans playing seemed perfectly legitamite so you can tell he won this challenge by luck. and it should not be like that "

Comments like these would make me believe that you haven't played the game, but are merely judging it based off of a relatively isolated occurrence.  Also, I don't mean AT ALL to be blaming Ryan.  As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure that I specifically said that this WAS a poor game design decision.  As a matter of fact, if you two actually went to my profile and read my blog, you might find out that LO AND BEHOLD I found the game to be mediocre and spent a considerable amount of time talking about how much the combat sucked in this game! 
 
My last line was a dig that he and Jeff actually both made in the video, and that was all it was meant to be.  These doods know I have nothing but respect for them and their website, so frankly, whether you think I'm a dick or not doesn't matter to me.  However, trying to pigeonhole me or anyone else who has beaten the game AND DIDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM as being assholes or talking shit because Ryan couldn't beat it is just incorrect. 
 
EVEN THEN...relics are EVERYWHERE in the game, and two of the primary ones that you get ALONG THE WAY are increased damage for scythe and cross attacks.  Other primary ones include combo time-extension (which would've made this a breeze with ANY kind of attacks...all those knockbacks wouldn't have mattered), increased resistance to damage...I mean, there are 27 different relics that can even be leveled up for higher damage and such.  Should they be necessities?  Well, if they are merely aids...then what's the point in having them in the game IN THE FIRST PLACE if you could simply beat the game without them?  Hell, let's take out the Unholy and Holy trees while we're at it, and then we'll REALLY make it an X and B button spam game.
 
So, trying to say "well, that's not the way Ryan chose to play it" means that Ryan chose to play this without taking advantage of all the systems that he had available to him...and that is very much his own fault...and he knows that.  To top it off, he had 2708 souls starting every time.  That was enough to buy the next rank on his cross attacks, and in turn, would've led to this video not having to be made. 
 
Don't yell at me because the guy reviewing the game wasn't being as rigorous as he could've been.  Ryan knows I have the utmost respect for him, and if he doesn't - Ryan, I have the utmost respect for you and all the guys at Giant Bomb.  This, however, is just kind of weird to see happen when this entire game can be beaten in a 6-7 hour playthrough in a relatively quick and easy manner on the lower two difficulties. 
 
ALSO...there are just those moments in a gamer's life when he'll play a game and hit that area of pure ultimate frustration, where shit just doesn't seem to go right...and it starts to wear down on them.  This was one of Ryan's moments.  It happens to the best of us.  Shit, it's happened to me several times over the last 20 years.  I merely chose to point out that, yes, there were ways to make this easier.  He chose not to use them, and in turn, it presented something that I hadn't found in the game (even with level 3 relics on Infernal difficulty) - strategy.  You can say this was luck, but homie had a great run on that last time he did it.  He was actually planning out "which enemy should I kill first, which one is giving me the most trouble, when should I hit my Redemption time"...and that was kind of interesting to watch. 
 
Ryan had a shitty time with the game for his own reasons.  I had a shitty time with the game for my own reasons.  Other people had a shitty time with the game for their reasons. 
 
So, to you two - thank you so much for being incapable of reading a single fucking thing I said, let alone even finding out WHO I AM...and instead just making your own internet assumptions.  My suggestion would be for you to pick up a copy of the game...and video-tape this exact section on your first time in it...and we'll see how difficult it is for you.  If you can honestly and seriously recreate this same scenario, then I guess I'd be proven wrong...right? 
 
If not...shut the fuck up, we'll all deal with the fact that Ryan had a frustrating moment in a game because he wasn't using everything available to him (grabs can ALSO extend your combo time), and we'll move on. 
 
BUT HEY...what do I know?  I haven't gotten a 666-hit combo in the game or anything... "

Good job Ryan, I may very well have quit long before you did and I don't tend to mind trial and error situations too much. I was thinking of grabbing this game, since I can get a friend to get me the game from the EA Store for $20, but man I don't know if I want to subject myself to that. Those challenges should stay where they belong, in some kind of post-game menu where you can win fabulous prizes, not in the main game, seems like they ran out of good ideas.
