Saints Row 4 Now Has...Dinosaurs?

I'm not even surprised anymore.

Everything needs dinosaurs!

Finished it this morning, wasn't really impressed.

Its funny but the gameplay adds almost nothing new and is frankly kinda dull. Its just over an hour and still the missions feel repetitive.

So more or less what all the SR3 dlc felt like

I'm going to wait on this until I start to hear a lot more impressions on it. 2011 Game of The Year Saints Row: The Third's DLC was pretty bad. I just don't want to get hurt again.

Also completed it and wasn't that good.

The dinosaurs part was cute, but short, adds little and the rest can be completed in a couple hours.

Also, I am kind of weirded out it weights less than 3 MB.

I know better than to buy Saints Row DLC.

I've enjoyed the two missions I've played so far. Yeah, its just a few more missions but they're really well written, pretty damn funny and they've left me smiling. They're both unlike anything SR4 has ever done and completely in the vein of everything SR4 has ever done.

Seems like Saints Row DLC continues to disappoint. Not a big deal really. Saints Row the Third had terrible DLC. I had a hard time getting into Saints Row 4 anyway.

It has dinosaurs, but does it have dragon butts?

I was really hoping they'd figure out the DLC this time. Oh well, it's not like Saints Row IV leaves me wanting for awesome stuff.

Well, Zimos is in the trailer for this, so it's not like I can't not buy it. As long as it's funny, I don't really care about the length.

Well we know what game is getting goty from Patrick now.

Should've stayed locked away in the Volition vault.

It's very short and easy. Also the missions are pretty boring. However it is HILARIOUS and if you're the kind of person who cares about homies, vehicles and clothing, that's great too. It's not the best DLC ever, but it's much better than the DLC from SR3. I don't regret my purchase.

Literally just sold the game yesterday. Oh well. I tried to go back to it after GTA and I couldn't. Different game I know but the mechanics are similar. The game was fun but I want the next Saints Row to go back to ridiculous gangster shit.

For everyone that is saying it's not that good, I mean...did you watch the trailer? Shaundi SAID "worst idea we ever had." Should've waited to find that out.

Volition and DLC don't seem to go well together. Even with Red Faction Guerrilla, the campaign DLC they did for that (which I can't remember the name of because it was that meaningless to me) wasn't very good.

However, I have a question for all of you who HAVE played the DLC: if this was just included in the game from the beginning, would you feel the same way about it? Here's what I mean: I played SR3 before AND after Full Package was available. When I played the DLC, I started a brand new game on PC (my original playthrough was on Xbox 360), and it all felt perfectly natural within the game itself. In turn, I never thought it was bad. It just felt like part of the game.

Is this something that would feel the same way?

Dinosaurs may be just what we need to fix this economy, or perhaps ruin a presidency if we fail, go Saints!

Man Volition has such good ideas for DLC but they never seem to execute well.

I mean the next one is call the Saints Save Christmas for god sakes! That sounds and should be amazing!

I think it took me just over an hour to complete. Maybe an hour and a half. It was nice to go back to the mindless mayhem after spending the last few weeks with GTAV, but I wouldn't recommend it for $7. And yeah, the dinosaur part was super brief. Blink and you'd miss it.

Don't want this to sound as an attack on the DLC, but it is clear that its meant to be played entirely after you complete the game. The whole quest line is told as if it were commentaries on content left on the cutting room floor of some show. It is pretty meta, so everyone acts like actors from a movie, which collides with the main quest story. I don't think playing it during your first playthrough (or alternating quests with the campaign) is a good idea.

I really enjoyed the DLC solely with how it's presented. Having it be extremely meta with the characters essentially being actors and talking about the experience like it's commentary on a DVD. Also well written and damn funny, but it's really lacking gameplay wise. I wonder if it would've been as quick and easy if I weren't using my end game character, but the way it's set up it definitely feels like it's post-game content.

Video won't work for me. In fact there's been a lot of trailers uploaded by Patrick specifically that just won't start, regardless of the video mode. I'm not intentionally trying to single out Patrick or anything either, it's just, well, videos uploaded by literally everyone else on here manage to work so... O.o

Anywhoo, while I can't watch the trailer, I can of course still read the comments... Sucks to hear it's roughly on par with the SRTT DLC. As in ridiculously short and kinda boring. Oh well, I have little desire to head back to SRIV's PS3 version anywhoo, so I'm OK in giving it a miss.

Am I the only one who had a good time with this DLC? Sure it was kinda short and a bit easy, but I had a good time playing it.

Haven't played SR4 yet but that looked absolutely NUTS!

Took me about 40-45 minutes to beat.

I'm having the same issue with this video, and the other one I noticed it happening with was the Killzone trailer Patrick posted.

I wish Volition made decent DLC. It saddens me to hear its not any longer than the average DLC for saints the third :(

This was way, way too short and easy, but the writing was definitely on point. I just sat in stunned silence (then proceeded to laugh my head off) at the dinosaur scene. All I could think was "this series used to be a GTA clone...".
