Man I love this little series.

Man, that was weird, Vinny started singing "All These Things That I've Done" at some point on the ship, right when I was going over that song in my head.

Getting up in the morning to awesome hour long GB videos every day has been awesome.  Certainly gives me something to enjoy my morning coffee with.  I would like to see you guys do these for other MMO's as well.  Although i imagine pumping these out is a lot of extra work.

I see them in the list when I type "phaser" but clicking on number 7 takes me to DarkSiders. Yes you can search for them, but no they aren't up yet.  This is surely a site glitch. "

My suggestion for the crew to show off some new stuff and random info: 
 
Phaser = does good shield damage but less effective on hulls

Disrupter = damage is less effective against shields but very effective against hulls 

Bleed through damage = shields don't always absorb 100% of damage dealt.  Sometimes a small percentage of damage bypasses the shields and directly effects your targets (or your) hull.

Those klingon melee sword things completely bypass your shield and deal damage directly to your health.  Not sure if this applies to all melee.
 
Engineers are awesome.  They can lay mines, build turrets and shield generators, and Georgi was an engineer, so they are obviously the best class in the game.
 
I equipped 3 Mk. II phaser banks on all of my weapon slots.  I would Strafe the enemy so the targeting arc overlapped on both  front and rear phasers.  I could wipe out shields with a quickness and with the higher level phasers do some damn good dps to the hulls in the process.
 
(pretty sure that's how it goes, someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Stop doing patrol missions and grab some explorations/ambassador missions.  Just to show off something other than "go here and kill shit" quests.  Apparently the game will procedurally generate new star systems and planets to explore allowing you to truly discover new life and civilizations.
 
Head to the starbase and check out the requisitions area to buy some pimp new weapons/body armor for you and your away team.
 
Ship Requisitions is upstairs from the Shipyard area (where you can customize your ship and whatnot).  Not hard to find.  There's a staircase that goes along the wall. In there you can view/buy all kinds of awesome gear and weapons for your ship and get a run down on every class/type of ship in the game.
 
Talk to the person behind the bar in the shipyard area (downstairs).  She's a merchant.  There's a sell tab on her merchant window so you can sell all of your old crap.  You get energy credits for selling these things.
 
 Starfleet merits you earn for completing tasks and the other form of currency as I understand it is just badges.  I think badges are not really a currency, per say, it's just a requirement that says "you need such and such badge before you can purchase this item" which will then still cost you energy credits.  Don't ask me how to earn badges cause I don't know.  I'm assuming there's a lot of different types of badges that require you to do different shit to earn them.
 
Basically energy credit is the money in this game.  I'm not entirely sure what merits are used for, though.
 
You get your first new ship at level 10 and you get it for free.
 
I believe there are 50 levels in this game.  Every tenth level is a rank, so you start out as a Lieutenant, grade 1.  When you get to Lt. Grade 10 you rank up to a Lt. Commander grade 1.  Every new rank allows you to command a higher tier ship.  So 5 ranks, 10 grades in every rank.

Just tried to log into STO and they seem to be updating servers etc and a lot of people can't log in. Probably why there's no video for today.

My tip of the day:

Press the 'C' key to crouch/aim in ground combat. It increases your damage and accuracy, and all your bridge officers will crouch/aim with you.

Just downloaded that 792MB humongous patch, a lot of stuff has been improved but some bugs still exist.

Man, watching this saves me 15 bucks a month.

Also to the right of your abilities bar there is an icon that looks like a stack of three playing cards. Click this then click 2 or 3 to expand the abilities shown to up to three rows. To use things on row 2, press ctrl+number. For row three, press alt+number (ie A7 is alt+7). You can assign your Bridge Officer's abilities to the regular bar.

Ryan is way off on the High Yield torpedo power.  The only cool down is on the ability to fire two at a time again, you get to fire your regular torpedo after the normal cooldown (about 6 secs).

I'm still liking this STO Beta videos and I'm still watching them all the way through.  And, for the GB Crew's information...

i think this should be more of an Endurance Run: Star Trek Online Beta or something cuz usual quick looks are a 20 minute video of a different game each time, even if its short it can still be an Endurance Run, just like the Matrix Online endurance run, which was only like 5 parts i think, and plus, if its an endurance run (and if brad decides to play the game more when it officially realeases) its a possibility u can just continue the series to make a really long endurance run like Persona 4

Ryan had 1 too many energy drinks. 

Glad that someone finally taught Brad the "apply your skill points to do better shit" rule of every game ever.
