This seems to be hitting a lot of the same notes as The Walking Dead. Of course, that was my favourite game of 2012, so I'll definitely be picking this up.

Love Fables, so this jas me excited.

Meh.

The Walking Dead was so amazing because of the brutality of human nature in a hopeless situation. Every time Hollywood tries to bring gritty realism into a fairy tale environment, it ends up being either laughably bad, or completely forgettable.

I don't think they'll knock it out of the park a second time, but it's all down to the writing. I just hope they updated the game engine to have better facial animations, The Walking Dead's characters were a little stiff in this department (pun unintended.)

Wow, wierd coincidence, just finished the 1st book yesterday, pretty good universe for some telltale adventure business.

I like how Telltale's adventures seem to be going in such a serious direction lately. I found all of the humor of their older stuff pretty off-putting. Plus the universe of Fables seems like it's allowing them to go a little crazier with the color palette and their art direction, which is always really nice to see

I'm onboard but I was a Telltale fan pre Walking Dead. Then again there was that Jurassic Park game.

Fables is one of the best comic series I've ever read so I cannot wait for this game to come out

I'd rather have a new Sam and Max than anything else from Telltale

I must be the only person who didn't care much for the Walking Dead past episode one. Maybe it's just the risk of having only characters and story to rely on that once you fall off the ride it is hard to get back on.

I like Telltale's game usually though, so I'll still give this a shot.

Huh, I looked up Fables and apparently they announced this game (or what this game started as anyway) two years ago. I hope this isn't an "Old Telltale" game.

Edit: And am I wrong or is Walking Dead season 2 still on track to come out this year, wondering if they plan to roll both games out at the same time.

Fables is an excellent series. Hopefully the writing of the game is on par with the comic.

Fables isn't a Hollywood thing. It's a well received comic book that's been around a long time, like the Walking Dead. 10+ years, in fact.

I think quite a few Hollywood shows/ideas came from ripping off Fables, but it hasn't been taken & neutered by Hollywood yet.

@chiablo: as you've been told a bunch of times, Fables is based on a comic book series. A very well done comic series that deals with politics and corruption. It has violence, but its not violence where "Look its Little Boy Blue and he's getting shot". It's a drama magazine intelligently wrote. For example: Jack from fairy tales is almost in all of them. Jack and Jill, Jack Sprat, Jack and the Beanstalk, etc on and on. Because of this, in the books he's an ego maniac who no matter how deplorable he is, always gets his way and he's invincible. Because everyone remembers Jack.

Bigby is the wolf from Mary had a Little Lamb, 3 Little Pigs etc, except now he has cleaned up his way and he's the sheriff or private detective. It's quite entertaining shit.

Their King's Quest revival got cancelled right?

Though ? Try impossible. People's expectations are gonna be set way too high (mines included :'O).

I wonder if the message "a new series of choice and consequences" is a reference to the walking dead and the fact that none of the choices you make matter.

Loved the comic...I am optimistically looking forward to this.

And suddenly I'm feeling Adventure Game fatigue again, like when I got midway through Sam and Max's second season and couldn't play any more.

Hopefully this and the Walking Dead second season will be good enough and different enough to cut through that.

Sign me up. The story seems unique and interesting enough. It'll be a nice change if pace and the visual atmosphere they're setting up seems to complement that.

I am really looking forward to this, the comics are absolutely fantastic and I think the Telltale team are the only ones that can make a proper adaption of this.

I feel like I missed something, what's this Hollywood talk about? It clearly says (if you were paying attention) that this is based on a comic. I do have to wonder if TT could ever make an original game though and not have one based on an existing license.

Seems cool but I'll wait to see what others say about it before considering to invest is the whole episodic adventure game thing again.

I really like the art style, but I think the animation is too smooth and kinda doesn't fit with the harsh edges. I felt the same way about the Walking Dead though

I loved the first TPs of the Fable comic. This looks interesting, I hope it turns out good.

@chiablo: This comic series is basically what started that weird trend of everything else trying to GRIT UP fairy tales, and none of those other attempts did it nearly as well.

I mean, after a certain point the comic should have ended but instead kept going and got real bad, but whatever.

I know nothing about Fables, but this looks interesting. I have still not disappointed of any Telltale game...

The comic series is amazing. I have 17 volumes on my shelf and any time a new one comes out my girlfriend reads it in one or two sittings. Do yourself a favor and check the Fables series out.

If this game turns out to be as good as TWD, Telltale may have recovered from their Jurassic Park blunder and become the new king of underutilized franchies.

Normally i'd say who cares but these guys made The Walking Dead so im gonna at least keep an open mind.

I didn't think The Walking Dead would turn into my GOTY so I'll see what's up with this.
