Am I the only who noticed things changing in the game world. So far I've noticed a banner at 1:47 and the speakers badge at 3:22. The easiest to spot is a painting in the bar area. At 5:54 its a picture a dude on a horse with the Statue of Liberty in the back and then at 6:00 you see it start to change until finally at 6:04 its a picture of some guy.

What could this be? What could this mean?

Lol, I should probably stop being so wimpy and actually finish the first too. I'll buy this one even if I dont though... BS 2 didn't have any appeal to me, while this one is making me consider plasma donation already, much like the first did... : )

@Lazyimperial: Game design =/= practical design. It's all about how the user can relate to the environment around them to help tell a story and it makes it more interesting to explore. Come on man, if you want practical building design, go play a simulator.

I'm so happy for the return of Irrational Games.

What a difference in quality from Bioshock 2. Not to mention the new environments and atmosphere. Irrational Games clearly owns in that department compared to a lot of other developers.

I love the racism, I mean in the game, it's accurate but the fact the guy is handing out guns to defend your self against foreigners is between the lines of crazy and funny.

Honestly wasn't too interested before but now definitely am. I've only got a tiny stupid nit-pick, but I really didn't like the working the bolt animation on the rifle.

i'm intrigued by the setting and the story just like i was in Bioshock, but the reason i stopped playing that game is i simply didn't like the gameplay. this look like it'll be the same case. i dunno, i'll get around to it eventually.

I think it looks great, too. I'm interested in what stuff like the HUD will look like, or if the final game will push you from arena to arena like you see in this video. Not that I have a problem with something that looks as natural as this does, but I wonder what kind of options I'd have for taking down that crowd if I'd zigged where he zagged or something.

Um, I'm even less interested than I was before. Look, Rapture's design was stupid. Why build skyscrapers underwater connected by tubes? Yeah, I know. "It looks more like a city with skyscrapers" and all that, but it seemed kind of silly to design it that way. Wouldn't you instead build a giant facility that was squat, closer to the ocean floor, and full of countless safetyguards to prevent flooding? Instead, you had skyscrapers covered in frail looking windows, with dinky little tubes that had huge ass whales swimming around them. Bleh. I used my suspension of disbelief, and took it for what it was. Problem solved.

This is even worse than that though. Instead of a giant floating structure that is designed with functionality in mind, the moronic characters have apparently built individual buildings, replete with cobblestone streets and robotic horses, held up by big ol' air balloons and seemingly crafted only for the sake of making the player go "ooo, trippy." Furthermore, the buildings are connected by roller coasters that you ride via a 1920s version of Ratchet's grappling hook. Oh, and somehow they have plasmids that let you summon raven hordes. I guess Ryan just stole the tech from these blokes or something. Whatever, it's that or a seminar given by either a Scarlet Onslaught member fresh from Icecrown or Edgar Allen Poe.

However, I could overlook all of the above more readily that the incredibly blunt political commentary. I shouldn't really expect any better, since Bioshock was horrifically upfront about its opinion on Objectivism and all that, but jeez! Washington, the "great white hope" as it were, holding a liberty bell and constitution against a sombrero wearing monster and a Chinese man dressed up like the main villain of "Big Trouble in Little China" while some tea party voice prattles on about how they want to take our guns, liberty, and lives? Are you even trying anymore over at Irrational Games?

Admittedly, I'll end up buying this game eventually, but my enthusiasm is all dried up. I'll be waiting until it is at least down to 40 bucks before I use my steampunk sniper rifle to shoot some racist, conservative, bible thumping radicals on their magical 18th century America-themed flying machines.

Wow, cool. I wonder how representative this is of how the game plays. Is it all going to be heavy cinematics sprinkled with gameplay? I sort of hope so. I had trouble telling how much of it was scripted and how much was user controlled. They sure know how to make a compelling gameplay video, anyways.
