@Great_Gregory: If they don't hype the game know one would know about it, thus no one would buy it.Frankly I don't think they have done enough marketing wise to put their product out there.

@Lazyaza: That's the whole point.It's suppose to be exaggerated features with realistic textures.Originally it was suppose to be photo realistic but they felt it was overdone and boring so they went for a more unique look.

This game looks awesome. I wish they would let it shine on its own instead of putting a bunch of labels on it like "Genre breaking." Let it speak for itself.

Mixing of genres generally just means everything in the game will be watered down and mediocre...
 
Also wtf is with their art style, its just... weird.  Its neither realistic nor cartoony but an odd mix of both that is kinda creepy.

Well, it's what people want so there's not much you can do about it. 
 
Unfortunately that's how games are...they overdo one genre forever till a new one catches on and people stop buying the previous one so much.

Had me thinking of Borderlands as well, if they can pull off the style / substance of that game then they may be on to something. We need a break from the COD / Halo / KZ lowest common denominator mentality - when was the last time you had an enjoyable game rather than just a grind to the next perk?

The hype out of all proportions (as neck-head proportions) is actually making the game look worse in a first impression when compared with a more careful consideration. 
 
That or the weird graphics,  I guess they went for a team fortress style, and then something happened.
 
Or both. 
 
That hype would claim for dissapointment if it wasn't so straight and obvious that I think most of the people will be ignoring it. About bugs and clumsy controls, that's something that remains to be seen, my feeling is not good on this one, but who knows...

Ever since I played UT's Assault mode I've wanted more multiplayer games with actual missions that aren't "kill everyone on the other team." Enemy Territory: Quake Wars was a nice step with their multiple objectives that are determined by your class but I'm hoping this will push that further with narrative driven objectives.

The movement and movement control in this game is enough revolutionary already that it makes this game different from all the others. If it will work out in practice, we'll have to wait and see, but from the videos it looks absolutely awesome.  
 
The randomly generated mission objectives are also quite rare in any game to this date, I'm not talking about 4-5 static objectives which light up randomly, but true random objectives like, take out this and this person, heal this and this guy and similar (seen in the videos) - well I've yet to see that in one game aside Brink.  Again how this will turn out I don't know, but it may be nice to get something to do aside the main objectives of the mission.   
 
As for the looks of the game, it's called art style and art direction.  The looks remind me that this is a  arcade shooter and that's a good thing, cause I wont expect one-bullet kills. On the other hand when I play MoH, CoD or similar games I always bitch that I need 50 bullets to get a "frag", considering that this game looks and strives to be a realistic portrait of army warfare.  
 
In my book, if you strive for a realistic projection of your game, make it behave realistic, that's what I liked about Rainbow Six from Red Storm. It looked realistic (at that time) and it had close-to realistic ballistics.  If I play a Formula 1 game, it better be a simulation or I'll bitch, if I play Mario Kart I'd expect mindless arcade fun and wont complain about realism, but that's just me.

I don't expect them to break the mold. Simple as that. All the same, I'm gonna go in and play this game expecting fun single and multiplayer experiences - that's all I want out of this. As long as they can give me that - we're cool. 
 
As far as the looks, I actually REALLY like the art design. It's unique, it leaves and impact on you because it's so memorable. Borderlands was similarly ugly as far as the males went, and I loved the art design in that too. Funny thing is, I didn't give a damn about Borderlands until they changed the art style and then all of a sudden it was something I wanted to play. If Brink was generic FPS realism #50 I probably wouldn't care about it either.

I guess i'm in the minority here, but I have really dug the art style and look of this game.  Kind of reminds me of a Killzone-2 / Team Fortress 2 hybrid.  I love these kinds of FPS games, so I'm looking forward to this. 
 
Though like everyone else, when a developer starts making outrageous claims about how their game will change the universe, I do take it all with a grain of salt. 
 
Come to think of it, When I think back to most of the revolutionary games, (Z:OoT, Half-Life 1 for example)  I don't recall developers making rediculous claims of changing the gaming world.  And most games that have claimed they'd change the way we look at games usually have fallen quite flat. 
 
Though, admittedly, as time goes on, it will get harder and harder to create these crazy "new" gameplay advances.

Another game thats coming out in 6 months or more, way to early to begin marking for it. But i will say that i hope there are a variety in the levels. Cuz that container yard level looks really really unispiring.

I'm growing more and more interested by this every time a new video is put up. My hopes may be way off but the way they've been talking about the "SMART" system makes me think of Mirrors Edge. It looks too clunky in the videos so here's to hoping..

When they showed a guy writing something down on a pad, I instantly thought: "Wow, this game must be really complicated". Weird huh? I mean, he could have been writing: "Physics engine proving too difficult to program. Switching to 1995 physics engine. Re: Why gibbing is better than ragdoll. Also, that vole is loose in the office, remind staff that 9-to-5 gumboot month is ongoing."

So .... you get "unique" missions that advance the story. What is the story? Who are we? Um. Medic number 1, 024? Don't get the explanation. Is each mission unique because others are trying to stop you, ala no A.I.? Just uber players that make it a reoccurring Legendary mode. lol. Sounds interesting - can't wait to see the half ass, pushed back result. Oh wait it already has been. BTW, where is WET for my PC Bethesda?  ;)
