I always skipped past the Bastion segments, in previous Happy Hours. Watched this one, now I kind of wish I hadn't done that. It looks neat!

Always nice to see a Norwegian movie making it. I liked it even though it would have been better without the Cloverfield POV crap. Knut Nærum was the best part! I hope it won't get a terrible Hollywood remake.

I almost want to buy Bastion solely just to support Greg K. and his team, because they're such awesome folk. But then there's the part where the game actually looks really interesting and I want to play it, so I guess I can buy it for that reason too!

I want Channel 4 to rip off that HBO app. After all, they already put almost everything they commission (bar movies) on YouTube for UK people.

Yeah, exactly right. XBLA games by their nature I think have a pretty limited audience since it takes a lot of savvy and a special kind of person to be willing to buy a digital game in the first place.

That said, Bastion is designed so that anyone with a basic understanding of how to use a game controller could play and enjoy it. In that respect I'm glad we got an E10+ instead of a T rating. When I was 10, the ESRB didn't exist and I was playing games like Ultima V, which blew my mind even though they weren't designed for 10-year-olds. So I'm relieved we didn't get a content rating that would have prevented or deterred younger players from giving Bastion a chance, since I think there aren't nearly enough good games suitable for young players these days. As a side note, one of the guys we work with at Warner Bros. has been playing the game through with his 6-year-old son, and his son liked it enough that he created the first fan art we got (posted on our web site). If we got a T rating, that same guy would have thought twice before letting his kid see the game.

Fuck me, that HBO Go app is sexy! I would happily pay a monthly subscription for it alone if they had it. However I don't have cable, so I can't get it. T_T

Bastion doesn't look like a game I would want to play... hmmmm if they have a demo on PC though maybe I will check it out.

One thing I'd like to see from the new Thor film would be them using the female version of Loki from some of the recent comics, doubting that if it does happen will be for long in the movie. Great to see more of Bastion.

Edit: combining zombies & vampires in a movie creature is by far the stupidest thing I've ever heard of while watching acres of horror films over the years.

I think the GB coverage of Bastion is one of the best things happening in the game industry. We need more of this.

The Fred Schneider bit had me in tears, great job Ryan.

I find the whole process that the Bastion team went through to make the game fascinating. 

Ah, so that what's Greg K's been up to since leaving Gamespot. I think Bastion looks fantastic; I'm getting a big Odin Sphere vibe from it. Not quite sure how well the actual gameplay may be, but the graphics are beautiful. Well done Jan Lee!
