    Sunshine is far from the worst game out there but it is a weird choice indeed. I will go with either the original, 3 or Galaxy. Cant choose.

    Super Mario World?  I don't know, the 2D Mario games all run together after the first two.
     
    For the 3D games, I'll stick with Super Mario 64.

    Super Mario World.  Hands down.  I actually like all of the Mario games except for Super Mario Sunshine which was pretty terrible for a main series mario game.  I would say I am pretty luke warm on Super Mario Bros. 2, but even that was a pretty good game truth be told.

    Super Mario World for me, SMB 3 is a close second. I haven't been a big fan of Mario since the non-side scrolling turn, didn't even care for Galaxy very much.

    Probably Mario Bros. 3. Although I don't remember the entire game since I was so young when I played it. Didn't too much care for Mario 64. Mario Galaxy 2 was stunning though.

    I've always been very attracted to the visual style of Super Mario Sunshine, but probably the Mario game I've had the most fun playing over the years is New Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Advance 2 might be my favorite, and the release of Super Mario Bros or Mario Bros. or however it was called on MS-DOS is and old-school favorite.

    My top three are Super Mario 64, Yoshi's Island and Super Mario Bros. 3. In that order. Some may argue that Yoshi's Island isn't a core Mario title but it is called Super Mario World 2 after all.
