Hello all, I'm finally buying a Wii from a friend that includes the console(cables,etc) Wiimote, nunchuck, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 for $80(score!). What I'm wondering is what are some good games that me and my girlfriend can play together? Also, I have a 42 1080p TV and wondering if the 480p Wii component cables are worth it?

No seriously that's a score for two great games.

Definitely worth picking up the component cables - it'll look a lot worse without them.

Here's my GF game recommendations!

• New Super Mario Bros Wii
• Wii Party (seriously - it's a great co-op/competitive experience!)
• Tetris Party (if either of you like Tetris)

• Super Mario Galaxy 1
• Super Mario Galaxy 2
• Wii Sports
• Wii Sports Resort

But sounds like you have 3/4, so I guess you're all set.

I think component cables are worth it if you're going to play the Galaxy games. If you stick to Wii Sports you don't need them.

Well I guess you picked up the system most likely to be playable by/with a female.

Just so you know, if you do use the component cables for true 480p, you'll have to switch back to the regular red/white/yellow cables to play certain games since some games like Iron Clad won't play when you use that. So make sure you have an easy set up so it's easy to switch between the two when needed, that is, if you intend on playing older games as well like some Gamecube, or games bought on Wii Channel. But yes, buy the cord. As for a game you and your girlfriend could play, it would have to be Mario Kart. I don't know what it is about that game, but most women find that game to be a blast. For yourself, I recommend getting Goldeneye. From there, get whatever you feel like getting.

Playing the Wii on a 42" 1080p screen without component cables would be a crime. 
 
Make sure you get WarioWare: Smooth Moves. That game is fucking fantastic and you and your girlfriend are gonna laugh your asses off!

thats all from the top of my head and ya get the component cables they make a ton of difference and ive never had any probs with the component cables and needing to switch back or with wii vc games not working

Games to play with your girlfriend. Both Super Mario Galaxy-games and New Super Mario Bros is a must. Mario Kart Wii is simple fun. Then it depends on your girlfriend's taste of course. My girlfriend likes simple co-op-games, where she don't need to learn too much to get to have fun with it.
