The Nintendo Wii is a home video game console released on November 19, 2006. The Wii's main selling point was the innovative use of motion controls that its signature Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers allowed for. It became the best selling home console of its respective generation of hardware.
MotionPlus: June 8th, $/€ 19,99; NOT bundled with Sports Resort
MotionPlus will be available at the 8th of june. Wii Sports Resort won't - that will come more than a month later, on july 26th. I don't know what to think of this, it's not exactly wise from a marketing perspective, but I guess we should be glad they're not releasing an unfinished game. There will be bundles then, of course, but it looks like those who want MotionPlus in June will have to cash out the (unsurprising) 20 bucks.
Thus EAs Grand Slam Tennis will be the first MotionPlus title playable to the general public. I guess this makes EA very happy.
Or perhaps it is a brilliant scheme by Nintendo to get money into the hands of EA so that they will feel good about their "we will support the Wii heavily now" move. :S
Title misleading. I thought they wouldn't have it bundled with their first party game at all. Wrote a paragraph ranting. Then I actually read the post (lol). It sounds good to me, it would suck for EA if they released their games that rely on it with the peripheral not yet available. I'll wait to get the Wii Sports Resort bundle as I still don't know if Grand Slam is better than good ol' Virtua. Or if I want tennis yet.
It will probably also help boost "third party publisher sales" numbers, stats like that are good to have eh?
Unfortunately it probably won't be 20 bucks here in Norway. I'm thinking around 50 dollars which is around 330 kr. I am definitely not buying this until I'm sure I'm gonna buy a game that supports this and uses it really well.
Can't wait to see how this will impact the next Zelda. The waggling in Twilight Princess got a little boring once in a while
"I wonder what the first non-sports title to use Wii motion+ will be..."I think LucasArts were the first to complain about Motion+ being announced so late because they wanted to use it.
The Conduit was to have M+ support for a long time but they capped this.
I am fairly certain that the first non-sports title will be either a new Wario Ware or a new Rabbids game.
As I had lots of fun with both series, I won't complain. : )
I'm thinking Red Steel 2. Dunno if that's good or bad. LucasArts, meh, their game sucked and they tried to cover it up with trashing Nintendo for bringing up M+ not being announced early enough. I mean, we know it all these months and it's coming in June, how is that not early enough? It looked like that game had ZERO effort to me anyway. Hopefully a different team takes up the M+ project, if one is coming.
This NeoGAF thread has some nice info I can't bother confirming:
MotionPlus is out in Europe June, 12th. Wii Sports Resort: 24th, July:

Official titles are Virtua Tennis, Grand Slam Tennis, Tiger Woods and Wii Sports Resort.
EDIT: US Date June 8, price $19,90, Wii Sports Resort (including Wii Motion+) July 26, $49,90
The gyroscope alone, just the component (no customised build for the Wii M+), costs $40 (roughly) if you buy it direct from the manufacturer. This might be Nintendo's first loss leader this generation and they aren't even using it in an exclusive bundle to just sell their own software but are apparently letting 3rd party(s) in on the ground floor.
This is the price direct from the manufacturer. Sure they will get a discount for buying wholesale quantities, but after packaging, manufacture, shipping, retail mark-up you really think they are going to be making a significant profit?
