    Background

Yuko led a hard life and had to work at night. She met Tomoyo's and Takafumi's father and he was very nice to her. They had an affair and she bore him Tomo. When people knew about Yuko's job, they started distancing themselves from Tomo. She later had a fight with Tomoyo's father and they broke up. One day, Yuko collapsed from exhaustion and was hospitalized. There, she discovered that she suffers from an incurable disease. She then decided to hand Tomo over to her father's care.

Tomoyo After: It's a Wonderful Life

Mishima was first seen on July 10 looking at the Sakagami residence. Tomoya announced that Tomo is with him and that she is doing well. Mishima requested Tomoya to take care of her in her place. Tomoya requested her to meet Tomo once. The next day, Tomoya, Tomoyo, and Tomo met her at the park. Tomo rushed to her and hugged her. Mishima simply apologized for being a bad parent wished Tomo a good life then left.

On August 3, Mishima sent Tomoya a letter. She explained that she had traveled a little and realized how much Tomo meant to her. She announced that she will be in town on the coming Friday and requested for photos of Tomo. 3 days later, Mishima met Tomoya and Tomoyo at the park. She collected the photos from Tomoya but refused to tell him where she was going. Tomoyo wondered how she got to be this way and stressed the importance of a family. Mishima hinted that she is going to a mountain with flowers that bloom in Spring. She then took the train.

On August 11, Tomoya met the manager of the village's disused hospital and she told him about Mishima's story. Tomoya decided that Tomo should be with Mishima until her end. Mishima disagreed, explaining that the village was a place for people to live out the rest of their lives and that the atmosphere was unhealthy for Tomo who has an entire life ahead of her. She doesn't want Tomo to know that she will die.

On August 23, Tomo moved to join Mishima to live at the village.

    After

Tomo spent the next few years with Yuko. Tomo was happy at the village.
