    Overview

Founded in 1984 as Probe Software, Probe Entertainment was a British game studio in Cheltenham, England. In its twenty years of business between 1984 and 2004 it produced many games for the UK and International markets, moving from the Commodore 64 and Amiga to home consoles.

Probe Entertainment was acquired by Acclaim Entertainment in 1995, and was eventually renamed Acclaim Studios London in 1999. It was renamed again to Acclaim Studios Cheltenham the subsequent year.

In 2004, Acclaim Entertainment declared bankruptcy and, as with every other sub-division, Acclaim Studios Cheltenham closed its doors.
