A concept in a game where the playable character can't run out of ammo, and doesn't need to pick up/buy ammo. In some cases, you still have to reload your weapon, but you will still have an endless amount of magazines.
A gameplay mechanic allowing players to store their items and freely carry them around.
Sometimes, players experience an unfortunate event that results in all their weapons and items being taken away from them.
Take an item and throw it at the enemy.
A Jab is one of the common fist fighting moves and is seen in many fighting games.
A janitor is a person whose job is to clean and take care of a building and its surrounding grounds. Fiction often portrays them to be simple and folksy, or pretending to be such whilst hiding an underlying nature.
It's arguably the one move that symbolizes the medium to those outside it. The ability to jump, be it onto a building, a platform, or a skull, is one of the all time most important abilities ever put in a video game.
Information on the time honored tradition of killing rats. Killing rats is a much cliched first quest for many western RPGs.
The act of pressing your lips against someone or something else as a sign of affection.
A Knock out or KO is when, example being a fighting game, one of the players is sent into a state of unconsciousness.
A lap is one circuit around a race track. This is featured in many, but not all racing games.
The act of breaking the law.
Less-lethal weapons are weapons intended to be less likely to kill than a conventional weapon. Less-lethal weapons are used in riot control and self-defense.
In Bully, it's possible to make Jimmy kiss another boy. It's also possible to see same-sex couples in the streets of Bullworth, walking together and holding hands.
Loading Screens are specific screens that are displayed while a game is loading resources so that the player has something to distract them while the game loads. Loading Screens can be images, text or even mini-games - and sometimes a combination of all three.
Lock On is a game mechanic that allows the player to automatically center the character's aim on a target, usually done with a toggle or a press of a button.
Whether it's for minimalism or a lack of artistic effort a lot of games use only the games logo as it's boxart. Examples would include all Final Fantasy's after VII in PAL and Japanese territories, Gran Turismo 3, Portal, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Metal Gear Solid and more!
Where one character strikes another character in the groin, either unarmed or with a weapon.
Games that feature an antagonist--someone who opposes the game's protagonist--that is a man.
This concept is for games in which at least one of the main characters is male.
From Beat-em-ups to fighting games to modern FPS, one dude hitting another has made an enjoyable pastime.
Somebody wrote or drew a message on the wall, maybe it was in blood, maybe they had a marker handy; but now here you are, reading it.
Game within a game. Can either have no effect on other portions of the primary game or have drastic impacts. In order to qualify as a meta game it must be outside the normal experience and have seperate rules that govern it.
An opponent that typically appears around the halfway point in a level. Mini-Bosses are more formidable than the average opponent, though normally not as tough as the end-level Boss.
Bully features a hell of a lot of mini-games. These include, but aren't limited to: school classes, paper routes, lawn mowing, arcade games, fairground sideshows and various other side-missions.
Never Ending Games is a self-explanatory concept in which a game is unbeatable and never ends, due either to the game having no true ending or because the game is not saved (or truly continued) after the last section of the game.
Characters controlled by the game for players to interact with, as opposed to player characters which are controlled by whomever is playing the game.
System in games that are used to alert the player of law enforcement attention and pursuit towards them.
In the style of several other Rockstar games, and being a spiritual successor to the Grand Theft Auto style of gameplay, Bully presents itself as an open-world game. The player can go and do whatever they want, within reason, with little or no obligation to complete main story missions at any point (although in order to unlock all the areas of Bullworth, a number of the main story missions must be played).
Shawn Lee's original score is what gives Bully a great deal of its charm.
