It only just unlocked but it does not look good at the moment. According to these benchmarks, only the new Titan can achieve 60fps. Even my brand new GTX 1070, 16GB of RAM and 4.2Ghz i7 runs the game at barely above 30fps on ultra. The game looks good, but modest compared to the biggest games out there. I'm not sure what the reason for this poor performance is. How is the game running for you?

Check out the full range of benchmarks here:

    http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2016/08/23/deus-ex-mankind-divided-benchmarked/

@brandondryrock posted a link to a PC Gamer article that has some good tips for performance increases. Common sense stuff but worth trying out.

    http://www.pcgamer.com/how-to-get-the-best-performance-out-of-deus-ex-mankind-divided/

Edit: To clarify, this is not a bad port or by any means broken. It just doesn't run that well even on the latest hardware.

The game is running like hot garbage on my PC. I can barely hit 20FPS(with some peaks to 30) with my GTX1070.

Whoof, and here I was all excited on my day off about to buy this until I went to check for this very kind of thread. I'm on a 970 and according to that benchmark it can barely pull out 30 frames on "very high" and "ultra" settings. I'm not super bummed, but I can imagine being even more bummed out with a fancy new 10xx card and still not able to hit 60 fps.

@aktivity: On medium I can get up to 40fps with a 1070. I didn't get as low as 20fps even on ultra. I haven't even left the main menu though.

I'm still waiting on this game to see if it really fixes my issues with HR because I think that game is crazy overrated and a lot of reviews say it's similar and don't touch on my issues with level design and freedom/exploration at all really. Since I have a 760 as well it's nice to wait hopefully for them to do a little work on this.

Dark Souls 3, Hitman, Dragons Dogma, and more have been all great for me just this year. Doom and Tomb Raider I haven't played yet unfortunately but are supposed to be really good ones too.

@artisanbreads: Doom was excellent on PC even on day one.

Let's hope a driver update and/or a patch addresses this quickly, 40-50 FPS is not acceptable on high end GPUs.

@mike: There were already drivers for this game from Nvidia last week. No idea how much more they can do. Patches are definitely coming to add DX12 support. No Man's Sky had 2 patches within 3 days of launch but I wouldn't expect that here.

Yeah, I just got a 1080 a week or so ago; I can't get a constant 60 with the highest settings. I might turn the depth of field down.

@ydross: Fallout 4? I mean, people complained about the game itself, but performance wise it was good. Metal Gear?

Bummer we're seeing some crappy ports, but outside of the Warner Brothers stuff, performance issues seem to get ironed out pretty quick.

Okay, so I took some screenshots of DoF off and on. I'll let you guess which is off and which is on (I actually don't remember which is which...):

@beachthunder: I can't tell, but I don't think the effect is strong in that scene if it's even active. It applies on the main menu and if you look in the top right as you turn it on and off you will see. Depth of field wouldn't work well in the scene you took screenshots of because they want you to see far.

I do care but if i cant max every game on day one im not pissed.

Im still downloading it but im gonna take a guess and say that with MSAA, volymetric lightning and some of the top stuff diabled i will get a good playable FPS and it will look 99% the same.

Please, neither of you argue. I have turned settings on and off to gain performance and didn't have MSAA on at all. I'm not pissed, and people might be a little bit angry but the game isn't in line with its peers. It would be one thing if all modern games ran that badly but I'm not saying anything controversial when I say I expected more than sub 40fps on medium on a graphics card that costs more than PS4.

i don't know- i've read a few performance analyses of the game and so far no one is scandalized by the performance. it just seems like a game that, if you tell it to (max settings), it will hit your GPU like a truck.

    With MSAA (and everything else at max) - 25fps @ 1080p 980ti/4670k

Without MSAA (and everything else at max) - 75fps

Simple enough choice. There's still Temporal AA, which is better than nothing.

I wonder if it's one specific option that's causing low FPS. I'm getting a solid 60 with pretty much everything on high except shadows and I disabled all the bloom / motion blur crap. Running with a 960 but the rest of my rig is pretty good.

As an aside the max FOV is waaaay to small for me.

It's a Gaming Evolved title. HR was a stutter-fest with my (Nvidia) GPU when it was released too. It'll improve, although I'd love to hear how AMD users are working out.

Well i think people need to understand that the initial internet rage that follows every single PC release is 99% bullshit. Saying not to worry is the only answear i can think of.

Hitman as an example is horribly optimized performancewise and noone minds that after the first release week. Its even taken as a great example of PC ports in this thread which is hilarious.
