In computer games - especially rpg - they're a great source of booze and often information.
Hiding items, rooms, and all kinds of things behind waterfalls is one of the oldest concepts in the history of games.
Brewing is the production of alcoholic beverages through the process of fermentation. It is most closely associated with beer, but can also include wine, tea, cider, mead and other liquids.
The act of preparing food by applying heat, often cooking in games produces items which yield some kind of benefit towards your character.

A guildmaster is the leader of a guild.
A Half Elf is the offspring of a human and an elf. In many cases, they are discriminated against by both humans and elves, which guides them to a nomadic life as bards, druids, or rangers.
High Elves is a race in the fantasy genre. They are all good-natured, but are often considered rude or prudish by other races. High Elves are highly intelligent, but also wise, making them great magic users of all types.
Humans are bipedal, sapient primates capable of abstract reasoning, language, and emotions.
Many games allow you to buy stuff, these are the dudes who help sell it to you. Typically they also engage in light conversation.
A militia is a group of regular citizens that work, often without pay, to enforce laws and provide defense for a community.
Ogres are large, grotesque, barbaric humanoid creatures. They are generally not very intelligent, but make up for that with their unmatched strength used to crush and maim their foes.
Orcs/Orks/Orques are a fictional race of tough humanlike creatures, often with green or black skin, originally coming from the Saxon word for the Normans during the invasion, meaning demon or foreigner.
Pottery is one of the oldest forms of art in the world, and it is still popular today. In some games, pottery is a tradeskill that can be learned.
The act of taking on an in-game task; most often, these are provided to the player by an NPC. MMOs and RPGs are the primary users of this concept.

Tailoring is the process of crafting clothing through the sewing and cutting of fabrics. It is a popular trade skill in many RPG's.
A trainer is a NPC with the ability to teach the Main Character new skills, improve upon old ones or simply raise attributes once certain conditions are met. (Not to be confused with mentor.)
