Ive played and enjoyed both ME games but... the series feels way too pretentious and fake, I never cared for any of those robotic characters, I just wanted to fuck every female in the game.
I'll pass on mass ensemble cast 3
Mass Effect 3
Game » consists of 19 releases. Released Mar 06, 2012
When Earth begins to fall in an ancient cycle of destruction, Commander Shepard must unite the forces of the galaxy to stop the Reapers in the final chapter of the original Mass Effect trilogy.
Jessica Chobot in Mass Effect 3
Might as well put it here then:
I love it! She's fucking awesome, especially when she was on as a guest for Epileptic Gaming back in the good old days.. good times. Now Freddie Prince Jr. worries me a little.
I'm going to join in on the bashing and overreacting fun bus!
The bulk of this thread reads like gamers being gamers, and the internet being the internet. I want to punch her in the face? Really? What the hell. . .
I don't know the full story, but the gist is that Chobot got into the industry based on her sex appeal to gamers. Or maybe just her looks in general but that's sort of how it works in a lot of industries no? Not sayin it's right, just. . . jeez. Something about licking a PSP. I don't particularly find that super awesome, but I also don't think it's downright offensive. From what I've seen of her, she seems to actually, legitimately like games and love the Mass Effects. And she gets to be in the game she loves. Instead of a good for her, it's like some kind of hate festival. The model looking like it fell out of the uncanny valley isn't her fault, it's BioWare's. Even Mirranda looked ghoulish in ME2 and nowhere near as attractive as her IRL counterpart. I don't get where all this hate comes from, and I never really do, and I doubt I ever will.
Hate what you're gonna hate, but I hope your reasons for this hate stem from something where if you explained it to someone indifferent, you wouldn't come off as some kind of weirdo or child. While she'll prolly never read these comments, I'm sure similar ones are being posted in areas she does look (IGN somewhere) and I just find it sad that people are so nonchalantly cruel =\

You clearly didn't read enough; as I say again, the whole ''punching in the face'' is just a reference to the previous reporter (Chobot is also meant to be a reporter) who you could Renegade-bop in the face across both games. It's a recurring gag across the series.
@Abyssfull: I get the reference. I punched that jackass reporter too because that's what my Sheppard would have done. He don't take that kind of crap. You weren't the only one to comment about punching her in the face and I made the assumption that it wasn't due to her being a snooty reporter and more to do with her just being Jessica Chobot in Mass Effect. Mostly due to the tone of the surrounding comments. My bad.

...I don't get it. Is she actually an actress, or has experience with voice acting? For the sake of a random '' gaming celebrity'' cameo... they could of chose better. Hell, Geoff Keighley would of been pretty awesome.

Now THAT I'd like to see (both Geoff Keighley and punching her to the face).
I also like how Bioware went through all the trouble to do their "make the female Shepard" campaign, and she turned out looking exactly the same as, or strikingly similar to, the default that was already in the previous games, which I'm perfectly fine with and like. The only difference seems to be a less plastic-y looking hairstyle.

To be fair, that's what the majority wanted... after of course choosing the long hair. Wasn't exactly about creating a new Shepard, it was more about giving the existing one a touch up.. it just got lost in the sea of "blonde vs the world" stuff.
@msavo:
But does it really matter if it's Jessica or just a random model with the exact same dialog? I mean let's say you're a game dev and you wanted to put someone you're a fan of in a game or and they said yes, you're excited and such and over here are a bunch of folks giving you shit because of it, even though it wouldn't have really mattered becasue it's not like they beamed actual IGN Chobot down to give game tips within the game with an IGN themed reporter suit, it's just a model and voice with no real effect on the story or gameplay, so why does it matter? I bet if it was someone like Tim Schafer it would be a non issue.
Maybe people aren't losing their shit but they are making a bigger deal than it really should be.

You have no idea how much.
Okay, you have some idea.

Considering that he stood up for the franchise when Fox were all like ''PORN SIMULATOR HIDE YOUR KIDS!'', I think he certainly would of deserved a cameo more so than Chobit... That's not a typo, I just like calling her Chobit - Zoidberg style.

fuck. now you've ruined mass effect 3.
What about this?
I did not make this image btw.
This makes my everything sad, at least I'm not the only one who sees a resemblance... right? That doesn't mean I'm the one with the problem if someone else sees it, right?
*Runs away.

I'm in the crowd that finds Chobot's appearance in ME3 to be alright, but I can definitely get behind you on that Abyssfull. Keighley earned a lot of respect from me for taking on Fox.

Meh, doesn't take away that the game will be mind-blowing and epic.
Somehow it seems to take all of that away for some people haha Fuck I'd hate to work in any industry that has "fans".
So basically every entertainment industry haha. Honestly I couldn't care less what people's feelings towards this game will be. I know I will love it and that's all that matters.
At this point, I'm not sure if Bioware or the internet has ruined Mass Effect for me, i.e. I don't know if I should side with the haters or the hater haters. Regardless, I don't see the presence of Jessica Chobot as anything other than bad pander-y casting, like Felicia Day in that Dragon Age II DLC that I never played. No, the presence of one minor character isn't going to ruin Mass Effect 3 for me. What Bioware is going to do with the story, as shown in those leaked spoilers, is going to ruin Mass Effect 3 for me. Still totally getting it, partially out of obligation and partially out of curiosity for what kind of train wreck it will end up being.

Is that also something which Zoidberg would say? :P
Nope, that's all me >_> <_<

I've been trying to avoid any and all ME3 coverage, but that just sucks, fuck you bioware, why are you trying so damn hard to make me turn on you. They're going out of their way to kick their fans in the groin.
If you're a fan of the game that stuff, such a minor thing as a cameo by some videogame personality shouldn't bother you unless you belong to the camp of "internet we hate just cause", instead stuff like a good implementation of multiplayer and improvements from previous games should be the stuff that you care about wich so far seems like they are doing good on that. But if having her likeness in the game really bothers you then you should not play the game and that's a shame.
Man, I'd agree that I totally hope she plays a very minor role in the game (because I maintain that if I want big tits and sexualized characters, I'll go look at porn and I don't need that crap in other forms of media) but if that's the thing that's ruining Mass Effect 3 for you, or the straw that broke the camel's back, you have odd priorities...
I'd be more concerned with the implications from the leaked story doc and demo.
The reporter thing is interesting. Will we have heaveir interactions with characters beyond just our squad? (More kelly level stuff and beyond)
Also I really like what they did with liara's face, it looks so....right.
I wonder if that last line from sheen means theres going to be another cast trailer. (please get the real mordin voice!!)

hey remember miranda's butt? Remember jack not wearing a shirt? Remember....well jacob's outfit made me, as a male gamer, a little uncomfortable actually. (not kidding or dramatizing, i thought it hugged a little tight. not as much as miranda's but sexualism isnt a new thing for mass effect. Theres some arguements to be made for thane or samara as well.)
Awesome. So now we have Rico as a squadmate. Hope I get to put a bullet in him Wrex-style. Although I'd never kill Wrex. Actually, I hope Wrex crushes his skull for me.
Commander Anderson's skin is...noticeably darker than the first two. In fact, he didn't look like a darker-skinned dude at all.
Also, why the heck is Jessica Chobot in this? They should've put Jeff Gerstmann in it or something.
But it was already going to be eh. If anything Chobot being in it shows how hilarious modern day BioWare are.

NOT IMPRESSED.

Naturally this thread already has 250 comments. Impotent nerd rage!
Most of the rest of the world complains about how women are at a severe societal disadvantage compared to men. Only nerds seem to get outraged when a woman gets an advantage with just good looks and a smile.
Or other women. Right now, Olivia Munn is probably fuming something along the lines of "How come that shank gets in the game? I'm better than her!"
