A transformation is a different stage or form for something. Usually an upgrade.
Some bosses transition through two or more forms during the course of a fight. Each form has its own abilities and health separate from those of other forms.
Three games that are individually complete but are closely related in theme or sequence
A powerful weapon often found near the end of the game that is significantly more powerful than other weapons. It can also be the last weapon in an RPG game that does drastically increased damage compared to previous weapons.
Video games contain a lot of activities for players to do underwater, from exploration to combat. Sometimes games treat water as simple low gravity movement, while other games treat underwater more realistically.
An additional difficulty level that becomes unlocked after meeting certain criteria, such as beating the game or dying many times in the same area.
Unlockable gamerpics are a form of reward for completing certain tasks in Xbox 360 games.

Cutscenes that cannot be interrupted or bypassed through player interaction.
Weapons can often be upgraded with new attachments, augmentations, or magical enchantments. These upgrades result in the original item being more powerful than originally intended.
Verticality relates to the scale of spaces in a game and the player's ability and freedom to traverse them. It implies that a player has freedom of movement that extends to vertical planes through abilities, vehicles, or level design.
Vestigial items may have had a use at one point in time, but now occupy a permanent inventory space and cannot be removed due to their special status.
A malevolent character whose goals are evil in nature. While villains are commonly featured as antagonists, not all antagonists are necessarily villains.
The Virtual Console is a platform service that first appeared on Nintendo's Wii and later on the 3DS and Wii U. Games from past consoles are emulated to run on the new hardware with the added benefits of system-level save states and other features.
Voice Acting is the art of providing voices for characters in games, television shows, films, radio programs, and other forms of media.
"Vore" is an internet term for a sexual fetish for the act of a creature swallowing someone else whole while they are still alive. The act is also seen in many video games, in a decidedly less sexual manner.
Also known as a triangle jump, this is the ability to hit a wall and propel yourself off of it like you were some kind of crazy ninja or parkour fiend.
Popularized by the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy, wall running is a concept employed in platforming games. The move is often executed when needing to traverse a gap with only a wall in place. Also includes running straight up walls.
A level that takes place either in or near water.
The ability to walk on water. Sometimes depending on a character's speed (IE slowing down will result in them sinking).
This is a place of special vulnerability. Particularly used in boss fights or when simply fighting Giant Enemy Crabs that cannot be defeated by usual means.
Variable and dynamic simulation of weather conditions can be used to add variety, atmosphere (a rainy day in an RPG) and/or challenge (rain on the racetrack in a driving game) to a game.
For games that have either wholly or partly Japanese title names.
A viewable map that displays the entire game world. The map also usually shows the player's location in the world.

The Xbox Live Marketplace and the Xbox 360's compatibility with certain Xbox games are utilized to make Xbox Originals - Xbox games that can be downloaded to and played on the Xbox 360.
Zombies, more accurately called the walking dead, are reanimated corpses who feed on the living, and have become a ubiquitous video game enemy. They often move slowly, but can be deadly in large numbers, which is unfortunately how they tend to travel. Shotgun time!
Dogs that are undead, or possibly infected by a virus in some cases. They have been a video game staple since Splatterhouse.
