Super Smash Brothers 4 Part 13: Pikmin

For the uninitiated this is how it works. Every weekday I'll be doing a blog on the characters that deserve a roster spot in Nintendos next character smackdown. The franchises from which I'll be taking characters can be found under the "Part 1" link. If I get good feedback, I may add or change representative characters. Characters can also be added as Assist Trophies.

The Rules:

  • No more than 4 characters per franchise (trust me, it's a hard rule to follow through with)
  • Characters have to be primarily video game characters.  (I want to add Colbert as much as you do)
  • Characters from Nintendo will go first, followed by characters from other companies
  • Characters must be major (I'm not adding Toad, or Sandshrew, or Lanky Kong. Whether a character is important enough is up to my own discression)

Part 1: Representative Franchises

Part 2: Mario Brothers

Part 3: The Legend of Zelda

Part 4: Metroid

Part 5: Starfox

Part 6: F-Zero

Part 7: Pokemon

Part 8: Kirby

Super Smash Bros 4 Part 7: Pokemon

Happy birthday to me... happy birthday to me... I feel so lonely...Why don't you love me *sob*

But enough of that. lets get down to buisness! Things will start getting a little more controvercial starting with this entry.

Most of you know by now that I am the ultimate list whore. As such, I feel that I almost have a duty to create a character roster for the next Super Smash Bros, despite the fact that it may be 6 years down the road. Why am i adding this as a forum post as well as a blog? Because if there is a franchise or character that should obviously be added, I want to make sure that I dont miss them, so all of you need to let me know if some character is being forgotten. Every day, I will add a blog post including the characters from an entire franchise, complete with pictures, and perhaps a synopsis. Please respect that this is my list, and If there is a character I deem not worthy, then i will simply not add them.

Part 1: Representative Franchises

Part 2: Mario Brothers

Part 3: The Legend of Zelda

Part 4: Metroid

Part 5: Starfox

Part 6: F-Zero

Part 7: Pokemon

Picachu
Picachu
Synopsis: Picachu is second only to Mario in popularity, as the face of the multi-million selling Pokemon franchise. Much of Pikachu's popularity comes from his team-up with Ash in the animated TV show, and from his special feature in Pokemon Yellow(where he walked behind the trainer). While not particularly powerful, he is one of the fastest and most useful electric type pokemon in the game.

Notable Appearances: Pokemon Red/Blue, Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Gold/Silver, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

SSB4 Likelyhood: 10/10

Mewtwo
Mewtwo
Synopsis:
By far the most powerful creature from the original batch of pokemon games, Mewtwo is an enhanced clone of the original legendary Mew. Trainers only had the skill and oppourtunity to catch him after defeating the Elite Four and his creator, Giovanni.

Notable Appearances: Pokemon Red/Blue/ Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green

SSB4 Likelyhood: 5/10

Lucario
Lucario
Synopsis: Lucario has enjoyed a lot of popularity since appearing in the latest batch of pokemon games. He is obtained by hatching the Riolu Egg you obtain from the old man by the sea and becoming close friends with the Riolu, at which point it evolves.

Notable Appearances: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum

SSB4 Likelyhood: 7/10

Pokemon Trainer (red + blue gold + silver ruby + sapphire diamond + pearl)
Pokemon Trainer (red + blue gold + silver ruby + sapphire diamond + pearl)
Synopsis: In the world of Pokemon, every young boy and girl dreams of working with pokemon. There are Pokemon breeders, traders, scientists, and even slave drivers(what would YOU call Team Rocket?). But many children become Pokemon Trainers, who train their creatures to fight eachother in a battle to prove who's the strongest.

Notable Appearances: Pokemon Red/Blue, Pokemon Gold/Silver, Pokemon Crystal, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

SSB4 Likelyhood: 9/10

Differences: In Brawl, the Pokemon Trainer used Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard. In the next game, players should have the option of picking from the playable trainers in each Pokemon Generation. That means the male and female trainers from FireRed/LeafGreen, Gold/Silver, Ruby/Sapphire, and Diamond/Pearl. Also, each variation would use the starting Pokemon from their generation. Thus, one setup would be Cyndaquil/Crockanaw/Meganium, another would be Mudkip/Grovyle/Blaziken, and Turtwig/Monferno/Emploeon.

In addition, I'd like to see a pair of the most famous members of the Elite Four, along with Ash, be playable as well, with their own sets of creatures. Cynthia-Milotic, Lucario, Garchomp. Lance-Dratini, Dragonair, Dragonite. Ash-Squirtle, Pikachu, Charizard.

Super Smash Bros 4 Part 6: F-Zero

Post 1000!

Most of you know by now that I am the ultimate list whore. As such, I feel that I almost have a duty to create a character roster for the next Super Smash Bros, despite the fact that it may be 6 years down the road. Why am i adding this as a forum post as well as a blog? Please respect that this is my list, and If there is a character I deem not worthy, then i will simply not add them.

Part 1: Representative Franchises

Part 2: Mario Brothers

Part 3: The Legend of Zelda

Part 4: Metroid

Part 5: Starfox

Part 6: F-Zero

Falcon
Falcon
Synopsis: A defender of justice. A bane to evil-doers. And a pretty damn good racer. Captain Falcon has become almost a symbol of awesome nerd culture thanks to his doomsday finishing move, the Falcon Punch. His racer, the Blue Falcon, is famous thanks to the number of wins it has racked up.

Notable Appearances: F-Zero, F-Zero X, F-Zero GX. F-Zero AX, F-Zero Maximum Velocity

SSB4 Likelyhood: 10/10

Differences: I debated whether or not Black Shadow should be his own character up until the posting of this blog. I ended up deciding that he would be far too similar to Falcon. He would be slower, but would fill the same character slot. Blood Falcon would simply be a pallet swap.

Fox
Fox

Synopsis: Fox appearerd as a showcase of the Super-FX chip back on the Super Nintendo, but his real claim to fame is from his Nintendo 64 entry, Starfox 64. His father is missing, presumed dead, and he often runs into his dads old rival Wolf. Fox has stopped the evil scientist Andross in every one of his outtings. He doesn't work well outside of his cockpit.

Notable Appearances: Starfox, Starfox 64, Starfox Adventures, Starfox Assault, Starfox Command

SSB4 Likelyhood: 10/10

Differences: Perhaps Fox would use a staff in his alternate costume

Adventures Fox

Falco
Falco

Synopsis: Falco is Fox's eternal wingman. While he can be snippy and sort of a jackass, he's extremely loyal and dependable. He's likely gunning for a little bit of individuallity in the next entry in Brawl.

Notable Appearances: Starfox, Starfox 64, Starfox Assault, Starfox Command

SSB4 Likelyhood: 9/10

Differences: It's about time that Falco gained his own moveset. I can't imagine he would want to copy Fox.

Wolf
Wolf

Synopsis: Wolf has been in the dog(wolf?)fighting buisness since James McCloud's days with the star fleet. He has since taken to being Fox's antithisis at every turn. However, there have been signs that Wolf is not as cold-hearted as he seems. He has worked for Andross in the past. He won't let anyone do anything.

Notable Appearances: Starfox 64, Starfox Assault, Starfox Command

SSB4 Likelyhood: 8/10

Differences: Wolf also needs his own moveset, even more so than Falco. Especially a different Final Smash.

Krystal
Krystal

Synopsis: Krystal emerged from the forests of Dinosaur Planet to become a love interest of Fox. She has shown a high competancy level piloting arwings and landmasters despite living in a world without technology for most of her life.

Notable Appearances: Starfox Adventures, Starfox Assault, Starfox Command

SSB4 Likelyhood: 5/10 *Super Smash Brothers needs another female character. So far there are only 3.

Differences: one would NOT be a Fox clone. The other would possibly be like the alternate Fox-with-a-staff setup.

Samus
Samus
Synopsis: Samus is often regarded as one of the most bad-ass first ladies of gaming. While she doesnt have as many appearances as her Nintendo counterparts Link and Mario, she is just as well regarded, thanks to the unvarying quality of the games she has starred in. She is also well known for one of the best jumps into 3-D the world has seen.

Notable Appearances:Metroid, Super Metroid, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 3, Metroid: Other M

SSB4 Likelyhood: 10/10

Differences: While each suit variation would have seperate stats, zero suit samus would have a completely different move set.
