Except that Ryse has actually had clear upgrades since most likely due to software updates. Probably more related to the API updates from MS than hardware improvements though that helps as well.

Anyway I think the important part to take out of that is that the demos being shown around are from their old builds.

You have to remember nobody outside Microsoft has seen this version of the game. Any other people who have played it are referencing the demo we've been showing from E3, Gamescom and PAX. - pre GPU and CPU upgrade. Same goes for any of the Forza footage. That's what's on the betas people have, and that's what's on the tour.

When Phil showed me this trailer a few weeks ago, I was telling him this better be the real thing. I was told directly this was taken from XBO builds, with the exception of unlocking the camera for the battle scenes to make it more dramatic.

So this is the real thing.

Ryse looks amazing in the new build, with clear improvements and upgrades in lighting, shaders and materials, so we might see something similar from Forza as well.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't judge Ryse by that mode especially. I see it much more as a cinematic single player experience with the multiplayer mode being a tacked on extra. It might not help, but you know that. Not to mention, it's clearly been tweaked since then in the shaders and lighting department. The recent video looks fantastic.

I really wasn't sure and scanned over this thread at least 4 or 5 times before clicking. I saw two gifs.... one of Solid Snake's ass and one of Master Chief in Armor. Disappointed. I should have not clicked. Usually the first gut instinct is correct. The perv in me got owned.

There's a lot of other games than Ryse to get excited about though. Did you play the multiplayer or campaign?

I feel pretty confident in thinking this game will be very heavy on story and driven by the whole unraveling the time mystery scheme. I think those expecting Max Payne like action will be disappointed. If you consider the TV show aspects as well, it's clear they're going in a very different direction here.

Well I was just saying I would expect you to be more informed than your average casual fan who buy things off of ads and marketing. A lot of that bullshit is overreaction by bullshitters on the net. It's a stinky bubble that will burst once the games hit and people get their hands on the console and games. None of the pre-launch internet fanboy politics or wars will mean much.
