I think we all may be suprised how powerful it may be. IF they use the tegra X2, we could be looking a some impressive numbers, especially coming from a Portable tablet. Now the tegra X2 has been said to already be nearly as powerful as the ps4 and xbox 1.

Some people have already claimed that Nvidia made Nintendo wait for the reveal, so Nvidia can reveal the new chip. Which would make since. If you look for it, and the chips they have shown specs for, you could be in for a nice surprise.

This table shows what the chips can do on the automotive side. These values are not what the Nintendo Switch will have. But it can give a indication on what the potential the chip could have with the NS. I'm betting on the SoC Parker at about 2.3 TFLOPs. Which will be more than the older ps4 and xbox, but not the new ones.

It got a remaster that's out in just a few days. People went crazy when Skyrim was anounced for PS4 and Xbox 1. Now they do the same with with Nintendo and everyone hates the idea of a 5 year old game. Should look at it this way, did you ever think you would have been able play a game like Skyrim on a portable console?

Not trying to hate on you. Many people have complained about it, but I think they are missing the point showing Skyrim. Even if you wouldnt actually use it outdoors, it'll be really nice to play while going to the bathroom! I'm sure that's where 80% of the portable play will be at...

It would be kinda funny if it didnt. But I doubt they would skip that. There last 2 handhelds and the Wii U controller were all about the touch screen. The bigger question really is how long the battery life would be and even perhaps could I get extra batteries for that extra long trip.

IMO its all about the battery life. If it can only hold a charge for a couple hours, then its not really portable.

Amazing.... Look, will it be more powerful than the regular ps4? no. Who knows, it may be on par with it. But the big thing that could really get people excited (like I am) is being able to play REAL console games ANYWHERE.

So what people are missing here is the Xbox native 4k vs the uprez ps4 pro.

In the end they might only have slight differences. The power from the Xbox is going to be all used up on rendering native 4k. Even right now for a gaming pc, its hard to get good frame rate for 4k. It'll be hard for the xbox to get a good frame rate as you want it to be. The difference might not be as great as it looks, so Sony may still be in a prime spot with the cheaper console.

Its a shame you really dont want to build. But here's some good starting steps if you may be up for it.

$1200$662 These 2 builds are a good place too start out at if your looking for a decent PC build at around your price. Then use PC part picker to fill in the holes and make it more affordable for you. PC building looks hard and complicated. IMO, legos are harder to put together than a PC....

Look, if Terry Crews can build a PC.... anyone can!

IF you really can't build it yourself, for some reason. I'd go with CyberPower.

That link is again, higher than your max, but you can reduce it down some, or they have other PCs on the website that are within your price range.

Also you said you already have a monitor, but I would add that, depending on your monitor, the size, refresh rate, ect. can really make or break the experience. A good monitor would be necessary to get the full experience from a gaming PC.

I think some people will hate it. Its funny how people say the disc based media is disappearing, streaming is the way to go now. Yet once you take it away from them, its like its the end of the world.

I don't think they left it out by accident. Sony proper wouldn't have let them. The difference in Sony and Microsofts thinking (IMO) is Sony probably has a lot more information on the forecast on the growth of the Ultra Blu-Ray. Not to mention when people finally start buying 4k TVs in large numbers, the 4k streaming will get a lot better. Not to mention nearly all TVs have netflix, amazon, hulu, ect in the TVs, requiring less and less need for a external piece of hardware for media.

While it would probably be nice to have a 4K-Blu-Ray option, It could very well just be a cost not worth it in the end to spend resources on a piece of hardware that might not have a long lasting appeal.

I think it was said they tried to book the place again to do it the next pax and they wanted A LOT more money then what it was worth.

I felt the same way, until this gem happened. And then I knew everything would be alright.

The real problem will be finding someone in SF that will replace him. Dan was really good and helping with Brad's dry humor and was perfect for bouncing Jeff's jokes off of. It'll be hard to find someone to take his spot.

I hope this as well. Of course the Epic Conclusion to all this is Danny showing up to some live stream in NY and challenging Dan to some game and kicking his ass out of NY.
