@slag: The mechanics really aren't all that interesting. It is more of a scrolling shooter but instead of using the hoverboard it is just Marty running upwards while throwing bowling balls. There are some other stages as well, but that is the meat of the game.
It is also interesting to me how many games were based on rated R movies that were marketing towards kids. Same thing with toys back then as well.
Man, 12 games already! A pretty great mix of games so far as well. I think the more of those hidden object games you play you will discover more and more that is very similar to one another, especially when it comes to puzzles.
As someone who has spent a lot of time playing and working on wiki pages for hidden object games it is nice to see someone giving them an honest look. I would say Artifex Mundi makes some of the most high quality of the hidden object games, but I think you will find that many of these games use the same tropes, writing style, and puzzles.
One thing I find pretty awesome about these games is just how many of them feature a female protagonist, as a matter of fact I would say 90% of them I have come across have been so.
Awesome list. I need to get Yakuza 0, I bought Kiwami but decided I should probably play 0 first. I also got Uncharted: The Lost Legacy for Christmas, but I want to get Uncharted 4 first.
I can't wait to dive in to Death of the Outsider. I loved both games so much. Does it have the option to do a no kill/alert/powers run as the others did?
