Played in 2014
This will soon be weeded out to truly become my "Played in 2014" list, but for now it has a lot of to-do on it that needs to me moved to a "Playing in 2015" list.

It's weird, super ambitious, and very cool.

Bumpin' tracks! It's hip-hop pong!
Really tight, doesn't outstay its welcome.
Barely started, seems pretty neat.
Finally!
Done, and really neat!

to-do (again)
Burial at Sea, parts 1 & 2. Part 2 was great.
The addition of content over time has kept this in my mind as an awesome little piece of art.
Meh.
Dodge all the things.
What is game?
Putt it like you mean it.
Looks promising so far! Might pick this one up as it gets closer to done.
I have made a horrible mistake
2d monster hunter contra!
Uhhh....
Unfortunately can't live up to Samurai Gunn
Synth all the things
Yes, it sold me a Wii U. No regrets.
Ugh, still pretty much an MMO.
YAY!
Perhaps the foremost video game zeitgeist of 2014?
Holy cow, talk about coming out of nowhere. The new effort from ACE team is so cool on so many different fronts that I can easily see it being on my top 10 at the end of the year.
Like some weird drugged-up alternate reality version of Fract, if it was part Adult Swim cartoon.
PULLBLOX!
Surpassed my expectations and very quickly became a grind I can't wait to get back to, day after day.
Wow
It's a good smash brothers again!
Charming
This game tries really hard to not let me play it.
Ohhhhh boy. All my favorite hooks are already right there on the surface.

Didn't quite live up to my hopes in its current early access state. Still has a lot of potential and could grow into a really fantastic game with some redesigned visuals that are a little easier to read. (To be fair, I felt the same about Monaco last year and eventually got used to its visual language.)
A couple of the party games are fun, but most take an interesting idea and fill it with lackluster cue cards and are ultimately disappointing.
The game that took party games by storm!
Fun-ish coop, but not sticky enough to keep coming back to after half a dozen hours.
Adorable! Puzzley! At the same time!
A sleeper hit that took a lot of office enthusiasm to finally win me over
Hard rockin' music, heavy hitting guns, and all the screenshake your body has room for.
To-do
Pretty much a tiny version of what I already played on the Wii
