Great post. I've been following GB since 2011 and I wish it had been sooner. This site has been like a warm blanket to me for the good times and bad for many years. I'll be sticking around for the long haul.
I respect the Giantbomb staff even more for not staying silent and it reinforces why I love this site and its community. Nobody should be silent about whats going on right now.
Not nearly as much as I used to but still a decent amount. Back when I started watching in 2011 I watched GB more than I actually played video games but I feel like my habits have shifted to be the opposite over the last few years or so. I also haven't dipped into the back catalog pre-2011 so I'm missing a lot of content there as well.
Right now with the daily streams it's probably under 25%. When they were in the office it was closer to 40-50%.
I feel like I've seen a lot of Gothic II appreciation around the internet lately and I'm all for it. It's one of my favourite games of all time, maybe even #1 depending on when you ask me. The two Gothic's alongside Morrowind were my introduction to PC RPGs so I have a strong nostalgia in general for that era. I was only 6-7 years old at the time and I would play these games on my grandfathers lap whenever we visited my grandparents.
To this day I don't think any game has done open world exploration as well as Gothic 1 & 2.
@banefirelord: It's been a while since I last played Resi 4 but I don't recall Ashley ever being that bad. Still a great game and worth finishing. She's a cakewalk compared to dealing with AI Sheva from 5.
I feel this opinion could have been shared in a much less aggressive and insulting tone and many people here would have agreed with you, alas, this is the internet where aggression and negativity is the name of the game.
I think @nutter and @bigsocrates put how I feel into words much better than I could. I will probably stick with GB for the long haul as long as they continue to at least produce stuff like Demo Derby and Game Tapes. This website is still like a warm blanket to me after all these years and finding something new would be hard because Youtubers and Twitch streamers don't appeal to me. GB really was a right place at the right time thing for me and I don't think it could ever be completely replicated again with something else.
The Lotus in Warframe is one of the main reasons I don't enjoy that game. Terrible voice acting and she never stops talking throughout every mission. Even turning off the voice doesn't help since her face keeps popping up on the screen.
