I was curious from watching this if they recast Mia, they apparently did not so I guess that might just be the lack of weird hair and her not trying to kill Ethan that she doesn't quite feel like the same character.
But they totally recast Chris Redfield again which I mean the previous actor only showed up briefly in the last game but it does kind of feel like the Capcom voice acting problem that is well documented with characters like Frank West where they can change them so much between entries that they can often not come off as the same character.
This was a super nice watch after the shocking news so nice timing on this. Going to really miss Vinny but Jan is probably my favorite person on staff now thanks to his constant upbeat attitude.
The premium podcast feed has an Ad for Harry's Shaving in it. I don't mind too much because I have not heard Jeff do an Ad read in years but thought I would point it out.
I want to play through this but I've very mixed about buying this package at full price since I already played a lot of 3D World on Wii U. But I also can't really guarantee it will drop in price because so far Nintendo has not revived their Player's Choice / Nintendo Selects discount branding for legacy titles on Switch.
AC Syndicate is one of my favorite games in the franchise. The Frye twins are great, I think this version of London is fun to explore, the grappling hook makes getting around fast, it's way less buggy then even the fully patched versions of Unity and the Animus stuff that is in it is more substantial than Unity's "Oops wrong lead I guess none of this mattered".
The enemy level stuff is definitely a bit experimental and it's a bit of a slog to gain control of every area to get the ending but I think it has some of the best animation in the series.
I'm genuinely a bit bummed that it has the flickering shadows issue on PS5 because I think it is a game worth revisiting.
PSA: That said one of the best set of side missions in this game is the Dreadful Crimes missions which were a PS4 timed exclusive. They are on other platforms now but they are not part of the Gold Edition due to the timing. I think they are normally $5 but Uplay has them for $2 right now along with the Gold Edition for $20.
They are these interesting little murder mysteries that play quite different than any other sidequest in the game.
In addition to the handful of games that will not run at all on a PS5 it is worth mentioning that some games have an additional qualifier attached to their store page.
When playing on PS5, this game may exhibit errors or unexpected behavior and some features available on PS4 may be absent.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate is one of these games because apparently distant shadows flicker. Will be interesting over the next couple weeks to see what people find.

The Weak Point thing also blew my mind. It totally makes sense when you know about it. It makes a different noise, you get more XP and there is actually a challenge this season to do 5 in a row.
But yeah I used to play a ton of Fortnite and like Casey had no idea that was a mechanic.
