Everyone should watch Polygon's Monster Factory episode with this game, looks like Epidehl linked it above. It's unbelievable. They make a 100% spot on perfect recreation of Bart Simpson. It's EXACTLY Bart Simpson.
Definitely not for me. But then I'm slightly disappointed when a Bombcast is less than 3 hours long and I wish every Quick Look was 2 hours long. One thing I love about GB is their commitment to long form content. Plus you can just pause it or remember where you were and watch the rest later. Then it's like double the Quick Looks!
I would love that, and hopefully it would help me wrap my head around it. The stories that come out of this game are incredible, and I've always wanted to get into it, but this is one of those games I'm afraid I'm just to dumb to play.
@siamesegiant: Oh yeah, I think you're right. I just think the idea is this is the huge money maker that will allow them to make that new stuff. It's like when an actor signs on to do a huge blockbuster so then they can go off and make their tiny indie movie. But no big deal, GB isn't really a JRPG site so I didn't expect them to be over the moon about it.
I thought Brad's semi-disgusted comment about this being a huge waste of resources was weird. All signs point to this thing making a HUGE amount of money for Square, which would make it the opposite of a waste.
Also, am I crazy for bringing up that this article is free to read? If they'd have said pay $9.99 for this in-depth preview of Rock Band 4, and this is what you got then sure. But in this case you go to a website (for free), read a short article (for free), and if it's not to your taste move on. I honestly can't understand why someone would be angry about this.
I guess it's just internet culture now to have extreme reactions/opinions about everything. Everything is either the best and you're an unforgivable asshole for bringing up even the slightest criticism of it, or it's the worst and it's bullshit and it's ruining (insert medium here). Isn't the non-crazy thing to do just saying "oh well" and moving on? It's a couple minutes of your life, not a big deal.
I don't think a "pre-review" is a thing. It was just a guy talking about being at the event. Also, I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but Jeff was asked about this article on tumblr and he liked it, take that as you will.
They didn't hand pick him to go to the event, he was just the person who happened to be there. That was his perspective as a guy who's not into Rock Band. He didn't trash it, just gave his perspective. If you want bullet points about a game there are plenty of places to get it. I think this is a non-issue.
