Favourite lost game developer studios
A list of my favourite game developers that have been closed down, bought up or changed beyond recognition.

Wing Commander, Ultima ... all lost within the great depths of EA.
Not always the greatest games gameplay wise, but always had their unique visual style and great music, especially the Amiga titles.
From the beginning to their too early end, they created nothing but fantastic titles.
Like Origin and Westwood, they were responsible for a lot of fantastic franchises, only to be devoured by EA in the mid 90's.
Wizardry and Jagged Alliance were such fantastic games. Both franchises kind of live on still, but Wizardry went on to become a series of obscure JRPG's that rarely get released over here.
Former Beam Studios. Behind classic titles like KKND .. and Game Room.
My love for Vision Software is a bit odd, few of their games were particularly good, some even downright bad, but most of them had interesting ideas and every single one of them had music I'd put close to the top of "best video game soundtrack of all time" lists.
While I liked MAG and Socom, my personal Zipper highlight remains DeathDrome.
I suppose I am one of very few who thought Dune 2000 was a fantastic game, as well as thinking SimIsle was one of the best games bearing Maxis' Sim brand. Much of the staff also worked on one of my other favorite RTS games, M.A.X - Mechanized Assault and Exploration, as well as the oddly compelling Waterworld RTS (the PC game, not the Virtual Boy one) and Emperor: Battle For Dune.
Really underappreciated studio, killed by SouthPeak.
