Overview
TimeGate Studios was a development studio based in Sugar Land, Texas. They released eight titles, but most notably the two expansions, F.E.A.R. : Extraction Point and F.E.A.R. : Perseus Mandate to the 2005 game F.E.A.R.

Lawsuit
In 2009, TimeGate Studios had filed a lawsuit against publisher SouthPeak Interactive claiming withheld royalties and failed to localise Section 8 for foreign markets. SouthPeak then counter sued, stating that the developer had not invested enough time or resources in developing its games.
On April 17th, 2013, news had revealed that the long running court battle had come to a conclusion. Both parties had agreed to a legally binding arbitration. The arbitrator ruled in SouthPeak’s favour. TimeGate was forced to pay a $7.7 million in damages and the intellectual property rights to Section 8.
