I'm locking this before it escalates into the inevitable flame war that usually follows these sort of topics.

Please refrain from posting similar disruptive and potentially flame bait worthy topics on the forum, thanks!

Hey guys and girls!

So today I moved flat, and like many people who own a Desktop PC will tell you, it's not an easy job packing up a desktop and all the peripherals that go with it let alone having to unpack and find room to put it. So I've come to the conclusion that buying a laptop is the way forward, it'd fit into my lifestyle a lot better than a desktop would, and I don't use my desktop to actually play any PC games at all now and haven't for some time.

Right now I'm at a bit of a loss as to what I should be looking for as laptop specs are like a foreign language to a guy who is used to physically picking up and buying the individual parts to build a PC.

So I'll make it easy for you guys, the budget is £600-ish, the laptop needs to last me a few years of intense usage. All suggestions welcome, even if it's to suggest any custom/configure sites to look at etc.

Thanks in advance, XOXO

As far as a Warhammer 40K game goes it was great but as for it being a video game it was very average. There were a lot of parts to the game which just felt very underwhelming and extremely tedious and frustrating for no other reason than "video games".

So a friend of mine stumbled across this...http://www.adultswim.com/promos/valve/

Anyone got any further information on what partnership Valve have struck with Adult Swim?

Based on the promo image it looks TF2 centric which has caused my special place to get a little tingly. I spend a ridiculous amount of time watching TF2 related videos on YouTube whether it's silly cam kills, awesome frag video montages or even dedicated "Pro-TF2-Team" matches and so on. But I'd be super excited to see some form of televised TF2 content. Especially if it's in the same style as the "Meet the..." videos Valve have produced internally.

What do you guys think?

Apologies if this has been posted already, let me know and I'll redirect to any pre-existing topic.

When I was in secondary/high school we had certain members of the senior/sixth year designated as prefects who were tasked with maintaining safe conduct and order on the school bus, if kids got out of line they usually found themselves swiftly pinned against a window and told to shut the hell up or else basically and it worked. Every so often there would be one or more kids that would act like these retards in that video and that usually ended with some typical school-yard justice where everyone turned a blind eye while one of the prefects leathered the fuck into the obnoxious little brats.

I know when I eventually became a prefect there were also three other ones on my bus, we weren't shy in putting little shits like those in that video in their place. If they persisted then we just told the deputy-head teacher about it and those kids would often find themselves banned from using the bus for a few weeks forcing their parents to front the cost of a taxi or to drive them directly. Hell have no fury like a parent forced to do a school run because their kid can't sit on a bus for 15 minutes without acting like a complete prat.

Was MGS4 a launch title for the PS3? Could this be a sign that a new Playstation console is on the way if they're looking at launching another MGS?

@Ravenlight: but WOW is dropping subs too

WoW has millions of subscribers, as in double figures worth of millions, they could afford to drop half their active subscriber base and still be a ridiculously profitable game and company.

No, it doesn't. It has somewhere around 4-6 million subscribers (might be less now actually), and then a large Asian userbase that pays per hour. It's sort of important to realize that distinction, as the average Asian user brings in way way less money than a "normal" subscriber. It's the unfair comparison most other MMO has to deal with, as they don't launch in Asia or even if they do they don't attract a large audience there.

Incorrect.

That article was posted in February this year as well.

Unfortunately it's not just your PS3, download speeds on PSN are pretty terrible, it took over 6 hours to download all the updates for Resistance 3 when I first got it, which put the speed at around 0.8kb/s.

That's an issue with the game. When I first tried to play I went for the update > install > play only to find the game kept locking up half-way through the install. After deleting all data for the game from the HDD I opted to go for install > update and found not only did it install without problems but the updates were downloaded within 30 minutes at most instead of the 2 hours it took the first time. Seems like an ongoing issue with the game as a quick google search showed others suffering the same issue I had when I tried to play it the first time.

As for PSN download speeds they've always been noticeably slower than other services but never to the point they've been utterly useless taking days to download a file that any modern fibre-optic broadband service should be able to download in a few minutes to a few hours at most.

In all honesty I'd say the issue may be with the OP's ISP/connection than with Sony's servers. Or worst case scenario the PS3 hardware is on the blink.
