It certainly a grey area. As an indie developer this can be frustrating. A lot of the time these key sites scam keys somehow and then undercut the prices of the games I am working on, and we don't see a share of that money.
Just got the game yesterday, and would always be keen to group up with duders! CMDR Hellerphant. Playing on PC (assuming this is the PC version), and @wezmon would probably be keen for this too!
Some good gaming happening this weekend! I'm squeezing in as much Elite Dangerous as I can before I leave for San Francisco next week - going to be playing Fallout 4 then as I won't have a good enough connection for online games (I need something to keep me awake for the two days before the show!)
Welcome @hunter456285, hope you post and hang out here!
Discord is a great idea, @alphanull can you make me a mod?
@mrambiguous when I get a date locked in you should definitely come along for board games!
As for multiplayer games, I'm thinking a few free-to-play ones could be good (so everyone can be included), but I'm also up for splitting off into groups for other games too! Some of the ones I was thinking about:
Warframe Team Fortress 2 World of Warships Guild Wars 2 Star Wars The Old Republic (it's a lot better now that it has some good content :P)
And other games I'm personally keen to play include Elite Dangerous, Rocket League and Vermintide!
So what are you aussie duders up to this weekend? Any cool happenings going on? We should organise to all meetup and play some game online sometime soon?
Thanks @jaymii, House of Air sounds amazing. Alcatraz was on my list, but I didn't want to spend most of a day there - is it worth it? If it's worth it, I'll do it. Also, is it expensive?
I also thought about Soda Popinski's, might have to start playing Punch-Out before I leave, haven't played it for years!
Thanks for all the tips @mike! This will be my first time travelling internationally alone (usually have been overseas to visit someone) so it's going to be a different experience. I've definitely heard that the Mission is great for Mexican food, and considering I cannot find good Mexican food here in Melbourne, that's definitely big on my to do list.
Also I need to find a Taco Bell. I got hooked on Mountain Dew Baja Blast in Mississippi, and there are no Taco Bells here which means I haven't had it in years. I bet @danryckert can point me in the right direction of the best Taco Bells.
Should ask the question - is anyone coming to PSX? I'll be working our booth most of the show, but would be cool to meet some folks!
Thanks for sharing @frybird, it's something I've often thought about. It doesn't surprise me that the German education system paints the Nazi party in the same light as Hollywood movies, the ultimate evil. I had the feeling that Germany as a whole felt deep shame after the war ended, and the best way to deter future generations (as you said, generations of Nazi members, silent supporters, etc.) is to paint the whole thing in the worst light possible.
Are there many memorials or war museums honouring those who died in the war for Germany? Here in Australia, we have a massive war memorial in the country's capital, and I'm wondering if Germany hides that kind of thing because of the stigma around what Germany was fighting for.
